check this out,

i was playing galaga 3 [set2](which is the same
as gaplus).....and around 60k, the ship
gets hit, and transforms into some other
weird ship..

by the way, the ship doesn't have any other powers,

Yes, there is a certain trick to obtaining the different ship. Other recordings should demonstrate it pretty well, though.

And your pics are broken too, btw.

Also, you don't need to keep putting "(compliant)" in each of your topics either. It's almost as annoying as the underscores thing.

Yea, the ship. I think I got it at level 32, I believe there are other means of getting it too (shooting that "star", or something to do with the flag thing). http://classicgaming.com/rcatt/gametips/gaplus.htm I'm sure Hisa Chan would know more about this, or could find more info than that. ^_^
