Thought this would deserve a new topic.

In this version, there is one fancy new feature that I added today, although I thought it would take me ages to implement, but it's there and it (hopefully always) works.
What's the new feature? Download the frontend and find out for yourself.

I bet I know what it is, without even having to download it

Nice one. It will come in handy.
Since I try to not put too many files in my mame directory the versions.ini is great. Unfortunately Mame looks for the ini-files in the current directory if not specified otherwise. It would be nice if the frontend included -ini mamepath in the commandline, where mamepath would be the mame folder.
Great work!

-inipath appears to be a fairly recent addition to MAME, but I could add it at some point as an option.

Made the Get MARP scores function run as a separate thread upon the 'request' of Roncli and Seymour.

Added:
- display of short name above the high score list.
- You can now specify an inp to playback with the Ask for INP filename option. Recording is still the same as always, most people rename their inps after recording anyway. If you all really want it to affect recording too, then reply here.
The open dialog that appears has an initial directory of '.\inp', but it would appear that the dialog searches for the directory. If it doesn't find it, I hope that it just defaults to the current directory (where MARPFront is called from). These are thing that aren't mentioned in Microsoft's documentation.

I still get the error "cannot open mame game list" what could I be doing wrong, I have the Marpfrone.exe and the ini fil in the same directory as mame.exe but it will still not work for me.
What am I doing wrong? or is there something else I am missing?

Have you renamed the example ini to versions.ini? Have you edited it to match your MAME executables?
