Motion for a new MARP Special Event

Post by gameboy9 »

I move that Phil Lamat's Week Challenge Championship become an official MARP Special Event, with all the rights and responsibilities that come with it. (i.e. it goes under an election and it gets the game prefix, w1, or whatever, along with it)

I have to applaud Phil for this idea - it is working quite well in my opinion, and I think making it an official MARP special event will attract more people the next time we try it.

All in favor of making the Week Challenge Championship an MARP special event will signify by voting "aye". All opposed will signify by voting "no".

This vote will last seven days and will expire around 2100 GMT on July 26.

Also OK for me ....

I gonna tell you exactly what I have planned for the future of WCC : first, as I also wanna play, I've the wish to elect a new coordinator for WCC2 (first 15 days of august to pick up name of candidates, last 15 days of august to elect the guy, so that we can start in the beginning of september) ; I must say that if new coordinator don't want to bother too much, I still can update WCC page (name of the game once it's known, rankings ...), he only will have to choose a game and just check it playsback ok with m35tg -or m61tg if we finally have it before september (use of tg is IMO an obligation, we saw it with round 8).

As it's been played week by week, WCC still can stop for a while if another tourney starts (t6? k3?).

As I said before, even if less people played in the end -probably due to holidays- , it's been a pleasure for me to run this tourney, and to see that 6 of 9 games hiscores on Marp were beaten with WCC.

I hope WCC2 will be more successful, but before I have to thank again all 16 people who entered at least 1 input during WCC1.

I still have an 0.60 build here: http://mahlemiut.marpirc.net/alphamame060b2.zip

I'll try to compile up an 0.61 build tomorrow. (Assuming I remember to, that is ;))

Note that this version isn't supported by MARP yet, as it's still in testing. Anyone is welcome to try it out though.

You're welcome. :) Some of those games were a lot of fun. I wish I had gotten around to doing a popnbounc recording from home (I may yet in 61), but it's definately been interesting.

I'd just like to say "so much for 7DBS" since this is probably going to pass.

I've always wondered what the 7 day battle system was. Must've been before my time?
