Birdie King 2 poll

Hi

I'm going through all the Golf games to see which of them can be scored using the general Golf scoring system. This general scoring system is:

200 - strokes played over 18 holes (allowing you to use as many credits as it takes to play all holes).

On Birdie King 2 this system can't be used as you don't get the possibilty to continue from the hole you stopped at. Therefore we need a new scoring system in my opinion, as just taking the number of hole reached is giving to many ties. Take a look at this highscore table for proof:

http://marp.retrogames.com/index.cgi?mo ... rt=^bking2

If we take Ocean View's recording, it says after the game that his final score is +19/4H. This means he went 19 over par on 4 holes. You get the right to play one more hole, if you go through a hole on par or under par.

Therefore I suggest to use this scoring system:

10 x hole reached - (score)

Which would give Ocean View this score:

10 x 4 - (19) = 21

If you go through all nine holes, with one under par on each hole, your score will be:

10 x 9 - (-9) = 99

This poll will run for 7 days.

This poll has ended and most of the scores have been updated, using the new scoring system.

I only need to update two of them, but I can't get them to playback. If you like to try, please go here:

Frankie (or some other editor), could you update the special rules for Birdie King? I'd think it's logical to use this scoring system for that game as the gameplay is very similar as in Birdie King 2.

Special Rules updated for Birdie King 1. It will use the same scoring system as Birdie King 2.

As it says on MAME.DK the collision detection was fixed in the end of 2002.

If anyone finds out about Golf games that have been fixed please let me know.

I'm confused. I didn't think the emulation of these games was 100%. I remember it having issues. Was this fixed in one of the new recent versions of mame?
