How is this supposed to be scored? I'd give this a 30, because that's the point system the game has. There are no special rules listed for this game to score it otherwise.

Agreed, 10 + 10 + 4 + 6 = 30. Good game, but I don't understand how they came up with the score they posted.

Oh i see how he did it! i'm not sure on the math yet, he got 3,318,706. and i get 3318684.

four round qualifying and race scores: (33.434) 1:43.851, (37.465) 1:58.838, (39.804) 2:06.394, (41.790) 2:59.738

besides the race points, the time is a factor too 8:48.821 = 528.821 seconds = the score reported at the end of the game totalling the race times. you can add in the qualifying times to make it more complicated which is what he did: 152.495 seconds since it doesn't appear to make a difference in the race. totaling 681.316 seconds for the game time, subtract that by the base score ((30+1)x100000-681316) = 3318684.

with many racing games we scored them stages completed minus time in milli/micro-seconds. so to conform this proly should be the same way, racingPtsX1,000,000-microseconds, so a score 30 would be in the 29 millions. instead of adding the 1 to the 30... does that make sesne to anyone?

Is that the way all racing games of this style are supposed to be? If not, the score *IS* 30 until a vote says otherwise.

After reading the special scoring page, looks like not. So I'm gonna start a poll for it.

Special scoring hasn't been updated for a long time since there is now "special rules" link ; but all racing games with times have been scored like that before, I think this one shouldn't be an exception ; let's go for Chad's scoring
