3 Wonders, 1 or 3 lives?

Hi all, I recently uploaded a couple of recoding for the 3 Wonders shooting game. I used the coin-op default of 3 lives rather than the the Mame default of 1 life. Is this illegal. I think Mame is wrong for making it's default setting 1 life for this game. What do you reckon? I'll remove my scores until a decision has been made.
