There was an old rumor around the arcade when Xybots was out that after level 50, you started coming back up instead of down. Did anyone ever have the instestinal fortitude to get that far?

Sorry Ray, can't help you there. I couldnt play it to save my life in the arcade back then let alone these days!
You could always just cheat to see what happens not that I would condone that sort of behaviour

I played it on easy and, near as I can remember, easy ends on like Level 14 with a big Boss-like thing.

Unless you keep going after the boss; I never made it through.

I have played to level 45 using a lot of continues which
is the 4 master xybot which I could not defeat. But I think
I would take another crack at it very soon. It would be
interesting to see if the elevator goes up instead of down.
I'll leave some conments on this game below.

1. The first master xybot is at level 15 then every 10
levels after that.

2. If you don't defeat it you are send 4 levels back.

3. First master xybot bonus is 250,000, 2nd 500,000, 3rd 750,000
and so on.

4. At the level before master xybot look for two barrels in a row.
Press zap(player button 1) you will get an extra gun which will
carry over to the next level.

Please let me know. I have been wonrdering about it for a long time. Every time I try to keep going, I run out of guard mappers and wall mappers and get hopelessly lost
