Damn!
Hmmm... I remember watching the replay on my home computer and it worked fine. I now played it at work and it looks like I have no rotation buttons.
Let me check it out.
[edit] OK, so far, I've noticed that the pieces I get on my home machine are different than the pieces I get at work. (Random seed issue?) The playback file is correct, but apparantly something more is missing. More to come... [/edit]
[edit2] http://marp.retrogames.com/inp/pi_teplu ... mame59.zip seems to work fine for me. [/edit2]
thanx

Never mind.
I gave up. I took it for a (long) spin at work, bettered my score, and uploaded it. Should play for you now. http://marp.retrogames.com/inp/rcl_tepl ... _win59.zip

Everything I had I copied from home to work. It still worked on my home computer, but on 2 other computers I tried, it didn't. I copied a number of files over, including NVRAM (which was 16K of ASCII 0's), all my root .dat files, I checked all the other folders for extra files related to the game and copied them over. It just seemed to keep starting with the block instead of the L.
I hope my better score does't exhibit this problem... It played back right on everything I tried it on so far.

No sir...
Nope, I don't think I ever downloaded .58, and I just checked the "about" box, it's .59.
In any case, I'm using mame32 .60 now, and might try to better the 400K score at some point. I'll be sure to run it through the ringer before submitting it. But thanx to Kale for pointing that out.

OK, Tetris don't like me
http://marp.retrogames.com/inp/rcl_atet ... _win59.zip
I recorded this on version 59 while I was in Buffalo, but now I can't play it back. Everything goes fine for the first 6 levels, and the first few pieces into the 7th level. Then, bam. The random piece appears in a spot that it didn't appear in when I was playing the game, throwing the entire recording off. I even checked this in DOS 58, and hit F9 to ensure zero frameskip.
Any ideas what's happening?

Tetris downright hates me!
Here's one more to look at.
http://www.roncli.com/files/atetris.zip
This recording was made tonight on Mame32 0.60, and went to 2.6 million. I want to submit it, but it doesn't play back right either. I deleted the NVRAM prior to starting the recording, as well prior to starting playback. It gets as far as completing round 33, and then in round 34, the first line up has holes that are in a different position from when I was actually playing.

Re: OK, Tetris don't like me
don't hit F9 to ensure zero frameskip, since the first frames of mame will always skip if you are in auto mode potentially throwing the recording off. run mame with -noafs or -frameskip 0 what ever mame version to ensure mame never skips a frame. Not sure if this will help though...roncli wrote:http://marp.retrogames.com/inp/rcl_atet ... _win59.zip

Got it working, but...
...not in 0.60. However, if I run Atari Tetris in .35b13, it playsback just fine. Now I just gotta play it so I get my 3.3M again.
