There is several ties in several baseball games ; this poll is to know if you think we also should count defense in them (like we already do in other sport games)
An easy scoring would be :
score = 10x(points for) - points against
Of course result of this poll would be sustended to the help of 1 or several editors because it is concerning a lot of inputs

Many baseball games are more difficult to score because of Hit By Pitches that are purely luck and multiple credits to complete a full 9 inning game. I think we have to make a scoring rule for that especially when some baseball games with time limits let you escape from playing defence, if you lag on the offensive time...

First of all I think that we should find out if it should be allowed to play one whole game no matter how many credits must be used like in Golf games.
And how about this scoring system:
score = 10x(points for) + 100x(number of homeruns made) - points against
That's just my opinion.
Bye.

Chad is right : we have to distinguish 2 types of baseball :
(A) baseball with limit of time (ex : 2020bb, bottom9 ..)
(B) baseball with limit of innings (ex: mstadium,ws89,ws90 ...)
Of course this poll can only concern baseball type B ;
maybe we 'll have to discuss later baseball type A and other timed games ?)
But for now just consider baseballs type B to vote ...
PS to Frankie :
I don't think 100pts for each homerun is a good thing ; it has not to be rewarded more than in real baseball

Here's an idea:
Score: (1000 * runs + 100 * hits - errors) - (100 * computer runs + 10 * computer hits - computer errors).
As far as timed games go, I'd say use the same scoring system, except:
- An uncompleted half-inning is counted as a complete one (makes sense);
- If the player has one more half-inning than the computer does, the final half-inning is scored (100 * runs + 10 * hits + computer errors) instead (it's not fair to just kill time on the last half-inning just to prevent the computer from scoring against you... kind of a reverse-leeching situation here).
Now, if you want to throw in points for strikeouts as well...

Don't know about you, but does the phrase "Keep it simple, Stupid" mean anything to you?

ok, poll is finished :
more than 50 % are for counting defence with scoring = 10x(pts for) - pts against
No it's up to editor(s) to edit all "baseball with limit of innings" scores with new scorings ; it's a big work and I can't really help as I'm not editor myself, but I can provide a list of this type of games if needed
