Dragon Saber - Playback?

Whenever I try to record a game of Dragon Saber, I get to around the middle of Level 2 and end up dying a stupid death, and the game is over because you only get one life. (I'm still learning the game, ;P) Anyhow, when I try to play it back, it will not playback. I have tried recording sound off, playing back sound off w/o and w/ frameskip speed up. I have also tried sound on, playing back with sound on w/o and w/ frameskip speed up. When I play back w/o frameskip speed up, I leave it on Frameskip 0 right from the start of the game. It never plays back to where I got to, it always stops somewhere on the first level. I am using regular MAME (not DOS or MAME32) and the newest version, .59 . I see that only Bubble's recordings have been confirmed. Anyone remember what settings they got those to playback on? I'll play on MAME .36 if I have to. Or maybe someone knows how I can get it to playback in the current versions? Any help would be nice. :) (BTW, my NVRAM folder is deleted, could that make a difference?)

Did you try MAMEW? Without scanlines? It should playback correctly, as someone did indeed confirm it..

I tried it in XMAME 0.59.1, and it played back to 26k (early stage 2) with the -noafs switch. Will try DOS version "eventually" :)

Hmm...
Strange, playbacks at the first time, now it doesn't.Guess it's because of that wrong ROZ layer.OK,now I will just delete it and have peace with myself...

thanks. with out sound might be better next time (even though less enjoyable it'll potentially playback better)... don't think it's the first time a recording has played back once only, i hate when that happens.
