I received notice this week that the hosting for MARP expires in a few days. I don't have the resources to renew it myself, it would be I think $417 for another 5 years. I can double check when I'm home.

If not renewed, I'll see about backing up all of the files hosted here and provide them to Barry or someone trusted to do something with it.

Sorry for the extreme short notice, but I had been thinking it was expiring next April.

Edit: The fundraising goal on GoFundMe has been reached, plus additional donation from someone else.

And to clarify, yes the goal was different from what was mentioned, because the fundraiser was in CAD. The currency had to match the account to where funds get transferred.

Currently, the hosting was renewed for the next month. Once the funds get transferred, they will also be applied to hosting. I'll update as things progress.

Edit 2: The hosting was renewed for the next three years, at a rate of 287.64 (discounted from the normal price of 395.64). So that, and the portion of the one month payment was made, for a total of 283.81. There was an outside donation for 65.70 USD and the GoFundMe page raised 615 CAD (minus 22.35 in fees), which is around 427 USD.

The next renewal for hosting will be due on 2028-04-23, three years for 395.64. So with the remaining donations, that will mean around $176 USD will be needed to make that payment. If anyone wanted more info or clarification, just say so.

Another user suggested setting up a GoFundMe for MARP hosting, it never even crossed my mind to do that.

It appears that the only fee GoFundMe takes is a 2.9%+$0.50 fee on each donation made. I don't know what tools are available for sharing data, but I'll provide updates on hosting donations if any are made.

Also, I feel old because MARP has been around for such a long time, 20+ years.

I don't have anything to do with the coding of MARP, that's Zwaxy's code. Whether or not he's actively maintaining it or not, I don't know. Either way, that would be up to him or the other mods on MARP for any code changes.

If the 5 year plan doesn't get renewed by Friday, it'll end up having to switch to monthly and then go from there. More costly overall, but less to raise with short notice. I'll make sure that at least another month gets added if there aren't enough donations to help with hosting.

Wes seems to be saving everything or doing something with the site.

Wes knows the code and everything he was able to save the site last Summer .
