It's been so long I almost forgot. Some months ago MARP got a new leaderboard leader.

I'm thinking it was about 2004 when Phil passed BBH, so I guess he was at the top for about 17 years. Man, time flies! And I guess his twin boys are about to head off to college now, if they haven't already.

I'd ask TK2012 to say a few words, but I assume he's still banned from the forum.

Leaderboards are not a very good idea.
It's full of junk scores.
I need years to make one replay, but I haven't stopped yet.
I will send it again soon.

We have just to see what happens in 17 more years from now.

LB doesn't work. Should be aggregated by genre buckets rather than arbitrary 1st places per romset, also each game should be weighted down if it has, say, 42 clones (kov2)

Yeah, unfortunately the leaderboard's been pointless for a while now. Number of first places doesn't really mean anything when the database has been inundated with things like Touchmaster splits and certain games that have way too many clones with little differences in gameplay. There are players with amazing replays but aren't high up on the leaderboard because they're not playing 20 clones of the same game. It is what it is, it's not like it's going to get overhauled because it's too much effort to do anything like that.

Yes, my twins are now over 18, and they are both students in computer science.
They also play a lot, but not with Mame (despite my efforts) : another generation, I guess
