What's broken on the level 3 boss?

it seems difficult, but I managed to destroy it with a very direct approach, moving up close to the boss, diving under + up, allowing the boss to only fire a single shot before taking it out, at which point the game moved onto level 4 correctly.

sure, it's a different boss to the other sets, but broken? doesn't look it to me.

hmmm diving under I thought about that.. but when i Did that .. I lost my weapon or just went down to my death
