I have played this one a few times and After Level 4 or 5 Spring Levels and Key Levels are really hard with Many different birds flying all over the place at the sametime.

I watched Notman's Game Using Wolf83 He used a different named romset. When was there a name change for this and why was it named Donkey Kong Junior Easy?

It should be called Donkey Kong Junior it only gets harder?

Has the rom set changed over time and it's no longer Easy? Or was it just one person that named it?

Watch his recording and then mine you will notice a Major change in the later levels .

This was renamed from dkngjnrb to dkongjre in 2008, and this note was added:

Code: Select all

DJR-03 Donkey Kong Modification Kits 02-23-83
	--------------------------------------------------------------
	Nintendo Service Department Bulletin # DJR-03 02-23-83
	GAME: Donkey Kong Junior
	SUBJECT: Play Time

It has come to our attention that play time on Donkey Kong
Junior is, in some cases, excessive, while in other cases
there is concern over the ability of players to learn the
game and thereby retain an interest in playing.

We are making available, through our Nintendo Distributors,
two EPROM change kits, designated DJR1-E and DJR1-P.

The E kit consists of four (4) chips and is an easier version
of the program. it presents the board sequence in a way which
familiarizes the players with the game faster. The board
order is vines, springboard, Mario's hideout and keys.

The P kit is a more difficult version consisting of two chips.
The order remains the same while more and faster
obstacles (snapjaws, nitpickers, etc.) are presented.

This is the verson thats called Donkey Kong Junior Easy as of wolf145

Older versons of Mame seem to have an easyer verson of the game?

I don'nt know how Mame Roms can change from verson to verson like that.. It's happened with this one over time .

Wish i could talk with Notman on his game play and why he did stuff he did. I guess he's not around anymore .

There has been no changes to the romset between 0.99 and 0.146 (other than the rename from dkngjnrb to dkongjre before 0.128), that much I can confirm.
