I have seen several MARP records that use these tactics in order to beat the former MARP records in some games.
Although these technics are legal (aren't strictly banned in the special rules for the game) I really disagree the way in which are used. I mean, can somebody feel pride of a MARP record when the player loses intentionally a round after being touched? If somebody gets 24 perfects but loses intentionally 10 or 12 rounds, would you say that inp is a PERFECT inp? is this a REAL record?
What about forcing double KO? Is the best player who forces double KO until be bored?
Examples of this situation are the the records in Street Fighter II' Champion Edition or Street Fighter II: The World Warrior.
Said this, it's clear that the players owning the records have an absolute domain of the game. So, they could be the firsts without these tactics. For this reason, I don't understand the use of "dirty" tactics to obtain a record.
For me, the real record in Street Fighter II/II' (or whatever fighting game) would be all perfects without losing a round. And be the fastest being able to do it.
What do you think about the records obtained by this way?

In my opinion, about Street Fighter II,
ALL PERFECT + no miss = novice player.
ALL PERFECT + round miss = good player.
ALL PERFECT + round miss + Double K.O. pattern = expert player.
Double K.O. system is the last advanced pattern system to obtain a high score in a fighting game. It's hard, very hard. Only super expert player can made these pattern with success. If you miss a Double K.O., you risk to quit your full play (also after 1h of play).

I agree with you. It´s very hard to do this in Street Fighter II The World Warrior.GHEMANT wrote:In my opinion, about Street Fighter II,

Re: Losing rounds or forcing double KO in fighting games
I agree that this tatcic is good in order to test a game to the max as score is the most important aspect.
It would be too hard to see if the loss is intentional or not. In some cases a player might take the risk and might loose the 2nd round and have a game over, this could be very frustrating so it's a personal choice to use it or not.
