So I wonder what you all think of Russia (2018) and Qatar (2022) of hosting the world cup. I imagine that Russia can at least do a decent job, but I seriously think Qatar is a total shot in the dark. But who knows... maybe they'll throw the best world cup ever. And hey, it might boost the football interests in the Middle East.
Still, probably being biased about this, but I think the USA could easily have shattered their own attendance record... which was set back when only 24 teams made the tournament, by the way...

Lets see. Russia with dilapidated football stadiums, a rail system from the 1970's, shockingly bad weather (ever seen a Champions League game there?), corrupt as f*** ( no, not via Wiki-Leaks crap), etc etc.
Qatar, where there is no freedom of speech, temperature in the months of the WC averaging a paltry 50C on a good day (yeah new stadiums with untested air conditioning systems), alcohol is frowned upon (not illegal as some reports say, but the authorities making an exception. But the locals not happy.) So a nice welcome there for global football fans. Do they even have green grass there?!!!
And contrast that to the England, USA, Japan bids.
Brown envelope anyone?
Pathetic.

I was hoping that England would get it but it didn't happen. I think Qatar might do a better job than Russia but they have to just chill with their strict laws for that period which i doubt will happen. It was a good World Cup 2010 here in South Africa and an honour to host it.
