nextfase - phoenix clone

Watching recent uploads (I'm curious to see what people play :D ) I noticed an upload of this Phoenix clone... so I tried it out, and:

1. it looks like marathon bonanza at first screen (yellow eagles), when you realize you have even faster shooting than at second screen (purple eagles)

2. it still looks too easy when at third and fourth screen (phoenixes) you STILL have ultrafast shooting

3. it looks even better when at 2-2 the purple eagles come down for the classic 200k bonus pattern...

But then the surprises begin :!:

 you don't seem to be able to squeeze the 200k no matter what (could anyone try it out ?)
 the 2nd stage mothership comes down VERY fast. If you don't get to blow it up and you're crushed by it, you're sent back to the previous screen but with no phoenixes, then back to the mothership stage - which is now slow as as 1st stage, and it's relatively easy to make it through
 the 3rd stage mothership comes down EVEN FASTER.

On my current best (a whopping 17370, duh) I managed to get past the 2nd stage mothership by shooting fast the rolling belt while slightly moving to the right (I've seen nibbler69 do that on one of the nasty timer-based clones 8) ).

I'd be curious to know whether someone can get 200k there...

looks from your recording that the 200k won't go, there were twice where you got more than three 200 birds, one you got 4 or 5 from same flock and didn't get it when you should. Looks like they made this one bug proof, maybe the 100k can still be done :)

Nice play by el wil, cool mothership strategy: get on the corner, shoot holes in the belt, come back to center and shoot fast - even if the yellow part of the mothership is still there, some of the shots actually go past it; if one of the shots goes through a hole, boom !

It isn't that easy anyway - you have to get there before the mothership is too low, or your ship will explode even if not hit.

Given the short time he came through with this strategy, either el wil is an absolute genius or he already knew about the technique
