Odd Twin Cobra rom

Back from Funspot this weekend and it seems I've run into another unusual rom. I set a respectable score of 3.5M with 1 bonus life but my progress was hindered by a shooting pattern I had never encountered. The 2nd level boss (and the 8th level double boss variant) normally only requires a quick side step to dodge bullets converging on your position. However, in the Funspot version the bullets don't converge and assuming you are directly under the boss you have to stay where you are to survive, the 2 bullets shot from the sides just come down straight. Of course you aren't always directly under the boss so you'll need a slight adjustment when they come at an angle, moving with the bullets while between them is risky though. Trying to completely dodge to the left or right is difficult when the boss is close because of the other sets of bullets on either side.

This is manageable on the first loop but can get taxing on the second, especially when dealing with extra ennemies or a second boss.
There also seems to be a tighter spread of the bullets for the 9th boss (which I usually try to go in between) but that's a minor annoyance.

I'm assuming this is an unknown romset because I can't duplicate this in MAME on any romset or difficulty level. Has anyone ever seen what I am describing? Maybe this is what the actual machine does and is an emulation issue? Also, is there perhaps a list out there of roms that aren't yet on MAME? (besides Guru's site)

Which region was it? (World, US, and Japan are the dumped versions)

The Japanese version (Kyukyoku Tiger) has its MCU code marked as a bad dump. Also, the MCU code for the US and World versions are the same, which may not be correct, I guess Haze might know if it is or not.

Of course, the MCU may not affect gameplay at all, this is pretty much just a guess.

Maybe it's set to a different difficulty setting?

It certainly could be a different code revision, but that is hard to say without it being dumped and examined.

The splash screen and the gameplay indicates US version. I've tried all the different difficulty levels but can't get the pattern I saw.

I have 'similiar problem' with Typhoon. When I play on arcades stages was in different rotation than on MAME. I think it is next clone.
