I have to say 1st place only because that's the only place that matters on this leaderboard for the most part.
If the leaderboard had any of the other versions, I'd say top 3... but this is probably the only case where I'd say first place only.

3 questions:
1. Let's say "taking first place only"-option wins, how is it regulated when someone submits a first place recording with other than allowed version?
A) Recording stays first, but leaderboard points are not given by Zwaxy scripts(=LB points blocking)
B) Recording is zeroed, moves to last position for the game(can still be downloaded).
(I don't think putting a link to first place score is a good idea, it would be like saying "this is first place score but not best")
2. How about old first place scores not done on allowed version? IMO this should not affect old recordings before these polls...at the time when they were submitted it was ok to use those versions.
3. I assume using macmame/xmame is not a problem, or is there a future poll on that?
Thanks

My opinion - It will be rule, break rules = zero score. You always can download zeroed replays. The TJT wrote:Good point.dan wrote:I think that it is difficult to delimit, because the place changes.

Even when Zwaxy write script it will looks ugly on MARP scoreboard and will create chaos when you will search scoreboard looking to leaderboard informations.

1-to discuss with ZwaxyThe TJT wrote: 3 questions:

2-of course no retroactivity : this won't affect old inp made before rule (exactly like the Nvram rule)
3-only if there is a secure macmame
I thought it was a rule already, but if there isn't a wolfmameplus(mame32) version available, then I won't be able to submit. I have zero interest in the commandline versions. The newest version of wolfmameplus that I can find is 106. Is there going to be a similar interface included in wolfcl from now on? Is this a 'poll', or an official 'vote'?
There is no reason why you or anyone else can't build their own version based on MAME32, or pretty much any MAME port, especially now that since 0.114, all code changes are made to the MAME core itself. Also remember that I included a small frontend with 0.113, you should be able to use that with any moderately recent commandline-based MAME version.

Commandline versions just plain suck! The last few versions(w/'simple front end'), crash from an error(s). Guys, this is quickly becoming way more hassle than it's worth to me. Do as you will with restrictions(way too late) to mame versions used here. I've been here for over 4 years, and enjoyed the stable platform of the 'plus' versions that were provided here for years, but since it's exclusion/lack of availability/having no idea how to 'make my own' frustration has been the word of the day. I trust very few sites to obtain downloads from(this being one I trust). Given that 'make your own' wolf versions are acceptible, why not just include a plus version like before? If it's too difficult for 'skilled' confirmers to deal with, how do you expect non-programmers to 'build their own'? I think most people here are honest. The cheaters will always figure a way to cheat. Much like in the case of TG, the damage is done due to the large number of 'early' inps that obviously reflect(in their bloated scores) that either the person cheated in some way, or that the 'early' versions emulation wasn't nearly as accurate as current versions, yet those scores remain. I'm not saying all of the older/non-secure versions reflect a problem(as I said, most people here are honest), but there is no doubt that their are 'bad' confirmed scores in the database. Holy shit; where's the tylenol?
