May be this game needs special rules.
Today I've finished this game (692 K) but the top scores are over 1M.
I didn't understand why so much difference but I looked the inp in 2th place and I had the answer: leeching.
When you reach the final boss (69 miles) instead of killin'it soon you can leech how much you want.
May be it's good to fix a rule about ...

Yes, special rule is required here. Leeching on boss, infinite (if not infinite then very large) leeching I think.

Almost identical how for Sky Soldiers, without proposals still.

What is your proposal Marco?

It's necessary to kill the final boss very fast (less leeching as possibile) and complete the game withouth dieing in the final fight.
When you die at the final boss you can get more pts because when you restart you can shoot many enemies.

Very fast? What knows very fast? 1 minute, 5 minutes, 1 hour. It isn't clear.

To destroy the boss in 30 seconds, which is absolutely possible.
complete game without die on last boss, that is the only way to avoid hidden leeching.

Impossible setting special rules here.
How much times you need to kill the boss ? you can't play with a chronometer.
An idea... the score is before you battle the boss + special bonus if you kill it.

Easy... this is your PUNISHMENT due you cannot beat the boss with less lives.
Davil idea is acceptable IMO.

This is good for tournament settings, not for regular play.
If you think Marco proposal is good then I have better proposal: you can play with 1 life only

Hmmm it seems that is the same proposal as wardner but leading to no decision now

The best solution is stopping score when you enter the final boss area.
Playing with one life is also not bad but in theory, if you reach the boss with one life (difficult but possible) you can leech.

I repeat better my idea.

1)stop the score when you enter the final boss area.
2) Do what you want, If you kill the boss you get the bonus (what is the bonus for beating the boss ? 10K,100K ? I don't know)
So: Score when you enter the final boss+bonus for killing it= your final score

-Other solutions ? I don't think can be.
- you lost 6 lives against the final boss ? Who care ?.
- Leech how much you want...if you are able to leech forever you can make a 9,999,9OO score!
