Please watch this inp

http://marp.retrogames.com/inp/c/f/1/br ... _win62.zip

Default difficulty setting is 5 (Normal), but he play with 1 (Easiest).
With easiest setting, you can buy a better weapon in stage 1 (all weapons and armours cost less) and kill some enemies fast, especially in stage 2 so can leech more.

Marp rules are clear about this.

In his description is: "TG Settings. Finished."
TGTS difficulty is normal (5 is normal).
TG Arcade difficulty is 5:

DQ?

EDIT
In mame62 default difficulty is 1.

How we can check what difficulty was used for this recording? Editors?

I had thought we could tell by just using the tab and checking difficulty during playback but this is not the case in mame62, i made a recording on Normal 5 which still showed Easiest 1 when playing back (as the recording does above.), someone (benjos| or barry?) must check the mame62 source to see if any dip switch values were saved in the inp to verify the difficulty set at record time. But i think if there are weapons at easier difficulty not available at a higher difficult as davil says then the case is clear, as long as someone is proves you can't get those weapons at a higher diffuclty.

Playing this tittle on default setting(5) or maximum difficulty 8 I don't find any big difference, but I try to beat him using savestate and can't understand how he was able to make this score.
So I watch better and I find the difference in the item shop.
then I watch dip switch and find "1" on difficulty. Try play with this setting and the item shop are like in his inp.
Instead If you watch his black tiger bootleg inp you can see the different cost of item shop, and here in his description he writes "Maximum Difficulty 8".
Here the score is less.

You can only use the TAB DIP switches menu to check settings in earlier versions of MAME Plus. You know that is working when you cannot change settings during INP playback.

As for this particular INP, the only setting not on its default is "Allow Continue".
Lives: 3 (default)
Difficulty: 1 (default)
Demo Sounds: On (default)
Allow Continue: Off
Cabinet: Upright (default)

So If I want to play this tittle I can change to difficulty 1 ?
if I delete blktiger.cfg default is 5 when I run the game.

Use mame62, default is difficulty 1 :D Hehe.

I think rule -> difficulty level must be 5 (normal) -> will be good solution.

But then scores made on older MAME versions should be zeroed.

Any changes here or not?
No "special rules" for Black Tiger games until now...

I'm always suspicious of the early mame scores submitted. It makes a big difference in score now that most games work at full speed now. Dips/settings are mostly correct now, with a few exceptions, but the older versions were easier difficulty as default in lots of games. Some might not differ, but those that do should be zeroed or be ranked below scores made on newer/harder/more accurately emulated versions. Perhaps they could even be moved into an 'old mame' archive.
