Pole position and clones settings

Hi !
I wondering why those games were so hard but i saw in the database that settings had changed in this game since old versions.
And the more seconds it lefts and the most cars you passes change everything in the score which is surely upper.
I just manage to finish topracer with actual default mame (v0.101) :
Settings time = 90 sec
Nb of laps = 3
Extended rank = A
Practice rank = A
It seems that hp's recording had other default mame :
Settings time = 120 sec
Nb of laps = 4
Extended rank = C
Practice rank = C
So maybe that you should fix a special rule to tell exactly what settings used or zeroed old recordings (but i'm sure you won't zeroed

).
It seems that gerhard and germax used those old settings to finish the game.
Tell me what settings used to try to play this great game.
Games concerned are :
polepos - polepos1 - poleposa - topracer - topracra - topracrb
Thank you for your answer.

I forgot to precise the maximum speed which is :
wolf 101 = 288 km/h
wolf 79 = 390 km/h
wolf 84u2 = 310 km/h
old versions = don't know cos i don't read the inps

What speed are MARP top scores done with?
What speed is majority of marp recordings?
What speed you think we should have?
What is top speed at TG settings?

From TG Bounties settings:
Time = 120, Laps = 4, Extend Rank = C, Practice Rank = C, Acceleration = 0, Brake = 0, Steering = 80

I wonder what that TG setting makes top speed then...
I also wonder at what settings is the old TG record, it's said to be absolutely perfect(at those settings)
This speed issue also explains how TG record is so high, as I thought it was not possible using settings I played polepos at old mame version.

I seem to remember the record holder saying that one more car might be possible.

I tried with wolf 78 and the rom polepos isn't recognized.
But topracer yes :
Without changing, nothing :
Speed = 391 Km/h
Settings time = 120 sec
Nb of laps = 4
Extended rank = C
Practice rank = C
The music works well (in 0.101 it doesn't work properly, there is only sounds)
It appears on the screen the gear hi or lo (and it is a big inconvenient in 0.101 when you start the game because you never know in which gear you are)
The game is harder because you go very fast and there are more oppponents (it's normal because you go faster) but if you manage well your score can be really very good.
Finally it seems that the roms have been redumped since old mame versions because there is no error message when rom is launched ("rom need redump").

I don't see where in dipswitches or service mode I can change max speed

I think there is another problem because what i say before with settings in wolf 78 is what appears in the menu of wolf mame but when you see the dipswitches in the game all is completely false !
By default :
Settings time = 90 sec
Nb of laps = 3
Extended rank = E
Practice rank = E
And i will try but it seems that the rank could influence the speed because when i changed the settings (commands are completely false because of the incompatibility of rom) my car drives only at 355 km/h instead of 391 !!

Yes, as at Star Wars, you have to go to service mode to change settings, using mame "dip switches" does not work and show bogus stuff.

Wolf 101 (dipswitches after press TAB):
Rank A,B,C,D = 288 km/h
Rank E, F = 331 km/h
Rang G,H = 360 km/h
Where is 391 km/h and 355 km/h?

I found something :
In the analog values in the menu of the game it appears :
Accel = 8F (it is the max value)
And in wolf 78 (without the analog fonction incorporated in mame lately) it appears :
Accel = 90 (the max value in this case)
So i think this is the problem to have the correct speed
I tried many times to configure my mouse in the analog function but i just only can go at 360 km/h
And it seems that the only way to do it is to activate the service mode with F2 and try to change the value. But it doesn't work everytime.
I tried with wolf 78 and lost all my settings to 391 km/h and i only reach 360 km/h

Wolf 78 - RANK H = 391 km/h. I recovered the values
