I was looking through an old issue of arcadia and found an interesting ad for a remake of outrun for the ps2. There are three pictures showing the gameplay. The first picture is of someone going 293 kph doing the offroad trick driving outside of some pillars. It seems to me that not only does Sega know about the trick, but they don't seem to discourage the use of it.

Sorry my stupidity, but what is the problem, mamewise?

There was a huge debate here about whether the offroad trick should be allowed, if the designers knew about it, if it was part of the "spirit of the game," etc etc etc. I just found it very interesting that sega would include the trick in their advertising campaign.
