Post deleted from Regulation Play forum

Somewhere for the annoying and/or off-topic threads to go. Feel free to post about whatever, but abuse will still be dealt with, and possibly with more force. Especially pac-porno. ;)

Post deleted from Regulation Play forum

Post by Weehawk »

From the best of my recollection my post is duplicated here:

http://www.gegotw.net/forum/viewtopic.php?t=69

where no one else can delete it.

The post was on-topic, in fact I thought I was making an important point. I did not use profanity and I did not attack the person in question personally, although I did criticize a logical contradiction in his vote.

The same contradiction was pointed out in this post:

viewtopic.php?p=34323#34323

by Zhorik.

It is my opinion that only under the most egregious of circumstances should an on-topic post be deleted. I choose my words carefully, and I resent having my time wasted by their being deleted capriciously. I won't waste my time like that again.

I don't expect everyone to like everything that I post, but that doesn't excuse deleting them without much better reason than this. If I deleted all the posts I didn't like, I could free up a lot of disk space here.

And this is the same guy that complained when Barry edited one of his posts where he requested a ROM!

Thanks for posting it anyway, not in regulation forum, fair?
You could have PM'd me if you felt somehow offended.
Sorry for deleting your post. I'm sure I'll hear sorry from you too.

This was your original post:

1 - NO
2 - NO
3 - NO cos it's useless to precise it !

I vote NO for all cos i think it's impossible to detect to my knowledge and it seems that you suspect that everyone is a cheater
...I fear when people vote and have no idea what they are talking about... seriouslly.
What's worse, he votes "NO" on #2 and #3, which has already been explained in this thread to be an inherent contradiction. In essence, he's voting to allow double mapping, but not to make an exception to allow a relatively innocent type of double mapping.

And what's even worse yet is that he is, at this point with just over 24 hours left, the deciding vote on the third item. I count 14 to 13 in favor of "NO".

Keyboard players won't be allowed to make a single key for diagonal direction because he didn't understand what he was voting about.

Why do we bother?
I don't think saying 3 time "no" has a huge contradiction. Maybe he just thought he don't want these rules at all.

It was you who said earlier that polls should be anonymous...and now you go offer your criticism for someone elses votes. That's contradictory.

QRS said essentially same thing that you did, but more kindly, I think.
I felt Sawys shouldn't be overly flamed for simply casting hes votes.
So I made my decision based on that, maybe I were wrong, maybe not.
Furthermore, I did say that you should cast only votes in that thread.

My response was:

I don't want anybody to be flamed about posting their votes...]

TJT

P.S. Couple editorial votes still missing, wake up guys! :)
Other marpers as well!
Yes, I too think cencorship sucks. I just did what I felt was right in this case. I did not leave your name attached to my above post, so that you shouldn't have to make a number of it.
