OK - I guess the time has come to make a full advertisement of my Home Action Replay Page site. Obviously, with a name like that, it's probably based on the MARP model, and it is. The different is that we obviously don't compete in MAME games; we compete in console and home
computer games.
Right now, we have competitions going on for NES, SNES, Genesis, Gameboy, Gameboy Color, ZX Spectrum, Atari 2600, Atari 5200, and Atari 7800, and we may add more systems in the time to come. Yes... even lengthy Role Playing Games like Final Fantasy and Dragon Warrior are open for competition.
I haven't completed adding all games for the website, but fellow MARPers Metrackle and Frankie are helping me out, for which I'm highly thankful for. I also encourage anyone to volunteer in adding games as well.
I encourage those who have an interest in competiting in home systems to visit this site and to see what it has to offer.
Just don't leave MARP completly for me, ok?

hmm, don't HARP on that fact. hehe
gameboy, where are you in MD again? I live in Baltimore now.
Perhaps we can meet at Crab Towne sometime. It's in Glen Burnie. I can give you directions to get there and we meet this Sunday or sometime soon.
If you know of other arcades in the area...let me know. Perhaps we can meet there.
...or just meet at some bar...have a few beers etc.

Actually I now live in Hanover, PA... but that's only about 25 minutes north of Westminster.
If I remember right, Crab Town is on an intersection of Route 3 and Route 100... but I'm not sure. Never been there. But I hear there's a ton of classic arcade games out there.
But yeah... I think I might be up for a meeting somewhere... actually I don't mind going to a bar right about now..... girlfriend trouble. Point made.

As part of my route, I am in Hanover 4 days each week...especially on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays. I deliver produce to the Weis market in northern Hanover(860 Carlisle Ave)....2 Weis markets a bit down south in Hampstead, MD, and the Bill Bateman's in Hanover in the Grandview Center. The Bill Bateman's is my last stop on Saturdays...so I could potentially met you for a quick lunch there sometime if you wanted. When I get there isn't too precise though...but I generally hit that around 12:30-2pm on Saturdays.

Yes, that is where it is located...but those 2 roads don't actually intersect there. If on MD-100 going eastbound, you have to take the next exit going east after you go over MD-3(Crain Hwy)...then take a local road back over to get onto MD-3. You turn into Crab Towne off of MD-3. A better way is off of I-97, take the exit for Quarterfield Road....take that east until it ends(only about a mile)...which is at MD-3. Turn right onto MD-3...go about 0.5 miles and Crab Towne is on your right.
Yes, they have a lot of classic games. I have today off and was actually about to make a web page listing the games for another gamer who e-mailed me about it just this morning. I'll post the URL once I get that web page together.
Are there any arcade games/arcades in the Hanover area? I could pop up there on a day off. That's only about 1 hour from me.

Hanover's got the North Hanover Mall, which does have an arcade with the infamous DDR Extreme Plus! Heh... they got a bunch of other stuff, but I'm not sure about classic games anymore.
Bill Bateman's in Reisterstown (just off Reisterstown road) has a few games... Padonia Station on Padonia Road(I-83 Exit 17) just off York Road (MD-45)'s got some stuff.
I'd rather stay away from Glen Burnie... it'll be about an hour and a quarter from Hanover... long drive. Unless we get a bunch of people, that is... then I'm all game!
But perhaps we can meet at the front door of Bill Bateman of Hanover's bar around 2?
Doesn't matter too much to me.

oh...where is that? I have not seen that mall. I enter Hanover via rt 116 and then just go north up 94 a bit to reach the Weis market on Tuesdays and Thursdays(coming from York)or from 116 take grandview road to get to the Bill Bateman's.
My guess is if I just stayed on Rt 30(i am coming from Chambersburg on Saturdays.) and then took 94 south I would pass the mall in northern Hanover ehh?

yeah, that is about right for the drive. However, once you see the list of games there..you might want to check it out. We aren't talking just a handful of games there...but an entire classic arcade. 50+ games and roughly 20 pinballs.
But perhaps we can meet at the front door of Bill Bateman of Hanover's bar around 2?
There is no way I can answer that question. I have no idea exactly what stops I will have on Saturday until I go in on Saturday morning. I then have no idea how the weather will be etc. My route on Saturday's is around 390-430 miles depending on which stops I have...so if the weather is nice and roads clear versus snow, sleet, etc. will make quite a difference.
Normally, I reach Bill Bateman's around 12:30pm-2.
If I get there at 12:30 so finish that delivery by 1pm, I can't stick around for an entire hour.
Perhaps we can meet for lunch there on a Sunday afternoon or something. I don't mind driving up there with decent weather. I would want to check out that mall arcade you mentioned.
When I am local to Hanover on Saturday, I could give you a buzz. The time for you to get to Bill Bateman's...I likely would finish up the delivery.
Even then, I wouldn't be able to stay long...cuz I have to get back to the homebase etc.

I normally go to church down in Pasadena, MD(tad south of Glen Burnie).
I get back home from that around 12:45pm...so if I then continued onward to Bill Bateman's, the earliest I likely would get there would be 1:45-2pm.
If you want to meet then, fine. If you want to meet at the mall...so you can play around til I show up...that's fine also. I figure it will take me 15 more minutes to get to the mall.
yeah, decent on Sunday...heard into next week might hit 70F. That's insane! We will all get spring fever.
[edit addition]
Ok...I got rough directions to the mall today(saturday) from a guy at Bill Bateman's.
I will check here later tonight and/or in the morning to see if you are going to meet up..and which location you prefer. A slightly late lunch at Bill's sounds great to me.
[/end addition]
If I see no reply, then I assume we won't meet this Sunday.

OK... 215pm at North Hanover Mall's DDR Machine. It's right at the front of the arcade, unless they moved it... then I'll be there.

I'll be dancing there or be near there. There's plenty of restaurants on the Golden Mile (which is right next to the mall), so... there.
Let me know if that's good for you.
