Bug in Puzzle Club (Yun Sung) - Magic Bubble

I submitted an inp with a score of 6,833,580 on the Magic Bubble game. I noted in the text that I received a 2 million point bonus on a board that I took more than 60 seconds to clear. It turns out that the last legitimate bonus I earned is the bonus I get on all subsequent boards that I get "nothing" for the time bonus.

Take a look at this inp. On this game I get the 2 million bonus on board A2. I play boards A3, A4, and A5 long enough to get no time bonus but I get 2 million on each when I finish, thus the score is over 8 million when I die on board C1.

I would change the rules so that we need to replay our inps and submit a score that reflects any bonus earned on the boards with "nothing" time bonus subtracted. Thus my 2nd place score would be 6,833,580 - 2,000,000(C3) - 305,100(C5) = 4,528,480.

Philippe's first place score would be 8,559,580 - 353,600 x2 (A5, C1) - 2,000,000 (C3) - 174,800 x2 (G2, G3) = 5,502,780

Frankie's 3rd place score would be 6,379,440 - 500,000 x4 (3,4,A5,C1) = 4,379,440

Blost's 4th place score would be 5,021,490 - 170,600 (A5) - 170,200 x2 (D2, D3) - 38,000 (G1) - 315,000 (G3) = 4,157,490

At least our positions don't change.

Not much you can do about games being buggy, especially Korean ripoffs. :)

You can't make special rules for Korean games, or you can't make special rules for ripoffs? :roll:

Phew! (sigh of relief)

Seems a bit far fetched scoring system(difficult), what other players of the game/confirmers think?
Of course if game scoring seems to be inadequate, we can make special rules, normal procedure: first talk, then vote.
How about some kind of mixed scoring, stages cleared +score on top?

Looks like there's not much passion for changing scoring system for the game. Maybe other players think that there is a base for the bonuses, and original scoring system of the game should be maintained?

Phil, Frankie, Donut?

I say, it's a bug in the game, just deal with it. No one's asked for a change to xmcota (v2.0) because of a bug that resets the score when you do a tech bonus.

Hey ! let us get out of coma after our drinky 31 Dec :)

I never had this bug when playing, but I think the buggy 2M bonus for stage clearance > 60s could be substracted from scores if it occurs too often ;
for the rest I don't see why substracting ALL time bonus (??) even if I think they are unadapted to the game (especially 1M and more 2M bonus which is due to luck - just have to get the right color for first ball) ;
in mainly all "pbobble-like" games, I think scoring is stupid because it rewards combos more than stage reached, which can put a guy finishing the game in 10th or 15th rank (see my comment for my recent upload on magicbub)

Let's change the scoring for all the more recent Capcom fighters then. :)

What is the time limit on each stage? Is it the same? I think that if its the same it should not be to difficult to drop the points given for stages where you take longer than the time allows.

However, if the time limit is different on stages, then its of course going to be difficult.

Fool I am ; Donut is right, I didn't notice that, but there is one 2M bug bonus in my inp (the 2 others are correct bonus)

I figured out exactly what is the bug : when bonus is NOTHING, the bug gives you the last bonus obtained ; so if you make a 2M bonus then you just have to outpass the 60s limit each time and you get 2M bonus for each stage completed.

I'm not really in favor to adopt Donut's scoring because too complicated ; we could deal with the bug, and the challenge would become to complete maximum stages, not caring about combos or speed
