I watched Novice's truxton inp.
http://marp.retrogames.com/inp/b/c/6/7n ... m37b16.zip

And I have questions to shooting masters.

1. What controllers you use for play?
2. Which hand you use to shoot?
3. How many fingers you use to shoot?
4. How many buttons you use to shoot?
5. How you shoot?
6. Maybe something else ....?

This look almost as autofire, for my hands impossible to make. :)

I know that not only Novice and INNUENDO are shooting masters. Maybe somebody know technique good for me?

I´ll answer your questions, Destructor ;)!

1. I use keyboard!! (serious, that´s true). I don´t use joysticks to play no-one game. I play only Out run and Super Hang On using a simple joystick.
2. I control with my left hand and use the right hand to shoot.
3. I use two fingers to shoot.
4. I use one button to shoot.
5. I shoot fast ( you can see on my chelnov and slyspy inps). :)
6. Well, I think I´ve told everything. ;) heheheheh.

How you have defined keys?

Do you use two fingers at one time or you press button one finger after one?

I guess they play forefinger +midfinger alternating. Similar technique is little more effective than using only one finger. It helps at all games where you require fast firing speed, even at Joust at tight situations when u have to go up fast. I think timing is harder that way though...So at Galaga it shouldn't really help, at fastshoot Galaga maybe. Phoenix not.

Also I've heard that Japanese controllers might be little more responsive than elsewhere: Joystick has less range of motion, maybe buttons are more sensitive also. Legend or not, can't tell.

My keys are O-up, L-down, K-left and :-right. And I use Delete, End, PageDown buttons for my right hand. ;)

I use two fingers at one time... is a custom. :) heeehhehe.

I usually use one finger on truxton. If my wrist starts to hurt, I start using two fingers (on one button, alternating, obviously). I only press ~15 times/sec max, so. :?

For Truxton, I use index and middle fingers on one button alternating style.
It gets tiresome until you get blue power. Then you are ok.

I did question Hisa's replay a while back as I thought it looked like autofire. Only when he had Red power. But I was told it wasn't. I think Chad checked it for me.

But he definitely has fast fire somehow......

1 Hori's Playstation controller
2 right for shot left for controller
3 2
4 1
5 use finger 2 and 3.
6 no

My shooting speed is 13-14 per seconds.
If you use autofire, it will go up to 30.
10-15 shots are enough for truxton. but not enough for xevious 3D/G.
Shoud I make truxton again by wolfmame?
that one was recognized as "the easiest looped shooting for 10million points of all history."

Heh, I know technique with 2 finger at once with one button to fire. My friend use this technique too. For my woodenly hands this technique is impossible to make.

Hi, I like this discussion...

Tried few times different techniques, using Hotrod, and pushing button for 10-10,5 seconds.(typing at notepad)

Results:

One button and one finger:
85 pushes/10 seconds

One button 2 fingers alternating
124 pushes/10 seconds
I get after 5 seconds unintentional cramps/stops, that makes amount of total pushes lesser. (Had same problem sometimes at Tron triggerfinger, but cramps did go away with practice...Now they only come after few hours play...) After few tries, my speed slows down.

One button/sixfingers
236/10seconds

2button/sixfingers
254/10 seconds

Naturally it's not possible to use sixfingers with a shooter, if you have to control the ship same time.

I saw in Poland this controller too. Is it work with PC and MAME with no problem? I see that this controller is for PS. How you connect it to PC? USB, PS2? Special cable?
