Hi!

I just watch DSKYS's inp on Hypersport. I wonder how he do the no breath trick in swimming. Can you explain how the trick works?

Is No breath trick in swimming is ban or not, yet?

No breath trick is allowed. (NBT?)
It's all about timing. Not very easy to pull off, but with practice maybe 20-70% succeed rate.

When you get "go" start with pushing both running buttons simultaneously.
Then your athlete jumps into water...Under water breath 2 times...If you time your 3rd breath at exactly same when he surfaces, you don't need to breath again that particular swim.
...If you time 3rd breath too early, you'll still have to breath at your swim...If you time it too late...you get "botchebotchebotchebotche" (gasping water), loose time spitting water and still have to breath rest of the swim.

Not sure if you have to push 3 times underwater or is only one well timed push enough. Also not sure if you'll have to push 2 buttons simultaniously at start...That is just how I do it, after finding the trick at internet. I never knew about the trick at arcades, that was rare one.

Don't you hate it when they show these thousand different swimming distances with all different styles whole first week at olympics...Yet it's only one event at hypersports...

yeah, imagine a 10,000 meter swim in Hypersports...or a 10,000m or even better the 26.2 mile marathon in Track-n-Field!

TJT will beg to differ ( hehe) but I don't think the timing for the third breath is THAT critical.

If I use keyboard (left ctrl and space for running, left alt for breathe) I NEVER hit it. No matter what.

I use those keys (and left shift too but anyway) for the rest of the game, including the swimming part of the swimming.

For the dive I use a usb joypad. L1 and R1 to jump and a button to breathe 3 times. I hit it 80%+ of the time now. I'm not as fast as I opnce was tho - can't get sub45 anymore

After dive I revert back to keyboard.

I too don't know whether or not you need the first two breathes, but it seems to help timing (yeah I know I said it's not critical) if nothing else.

As for speed, I know tommi doesn't 'know' how i get so fast on keyboard, but look at my tnf inps - i'm well down and can get nothing like the speed i do on HS. Different games, different techniques work DIFFERENTLY. Waffling, going, gone.

Why I don't see any inp showing how to get 22k++ at Skeet Shooting after the second loop. Now where did I see that inp about perfect shooting at archery including apples, I saw that once. I would like to see that again if anybody know where that inp is.

Back to TNF, messing around the cheat mode. Got 11m40 on Long Jump. I wonder if Long Jump max on 11m50??? Interesting bug on 2m55 on High Jump.

Can anybody show how the TNF Hurdles trick works on two players mode how to get one player get the ridicious timer less that 1:00.

I will try that T+F hurdles trick. As I remember , it only worked on one arcade machine that I played. So not too sure what rom-set it is.
Dunno whether it's T+F or Hyper Olympics?

You don't see an INP of 22k+ on Skeet Shooting cos no-one has done it yet! Well not recorded anyhow. Would you believe a record of 23,600?
Seen it, didn't do it!

I believe Adrian (Dskys) has an INP of a perfect Archery. I still haven't done it on MAME, even on practice games, let alone recorded games!.

Al! I believe the hurdles trick works on TNF K/Centuri romset. Don't know about other Hyper Olympics romsets.

Look like TJT hasn't submitted Hyper Olympics '84 inp, yet.

I was wondering if we could ask Seymour to add another Forum for Easter Eggs trick. The Easter Egg trick hasn't been update for a while. Would like to see some of older version upgrade to the latest version, due rom changes and out of date version.

Yeah I dont have an inp up on the leaderboard, but that thread has one from last week. First time i've got it in MAME, and I missed one of the bloody apples due to shock lol. so 9800.

I really should start playing HS frequently again...

AL - what is the record for first round skeets? Assuming 23,6 is second round.
