What about Megaplay emulation? I searched for the post with your WIP, but I can´t find it.

I remember playing a lot of megaplay games with an old emulator, but in MAME there're only 3 o 4 games emulated. What's the problem to emulate a ton of them? :) The roms are no accesible? A problem with the emulation?

I remember playing Golden Axe 2 and 3. If the roms are not accesible, I've a friend that believe that can dump some of them.

Regards

all the dumped megaplay roms are supported. you probably just played megadrive / genesis games on a genesis emulator. only a handful of megaplay games were made anyway.

You mean this thread? viewtopic.php?t=10780

You're probably thinking of Mega-Tech, which there are plenty of in MAME. These are pretty much just Genesis/Megadrive and SMS games controlled by a menu and timer. Byte-swap a Genesis Megatech game, and hey presto, it runs in any Genesis emu. SMS games work in SMS emulators as is.

Megaplay is a system that runs modified versions of Genesis/Megadrive games only, with some parts even handled by the BIOS (like the timer in Golden Axe II)

You're probably thinking of Mega-Tech, although both Mega-Tech and Megaplay versions of Golden Axe II are dumped and work in MAME.

Yes, you were right (Haze and Barry R. ); I played the games (Golden Axe II, Golden Axe III) in keygen98 (megadrive/genesis emulator). And Golden Axe II is identical to the Megadrive´s version (I believe that the timer doen´t appear in Megadrive version).

Are there versions of Golden Axe III and Golden Axe for Megaplay System?
