I have randomly ordered the 52 games, two games were pre-eliminated because they were selected (balcube/bub_bob) or too similar to selected games (ssf2x/kelly had a chance to submit another but fell asleep i think).

Please debate potential problems: the initial problem of the 3 "shooter" like games in the top 8 will be dealt with this way, zektor and tacscan are vector shooters, so tacscan will be eliminated (grudge). But zektor and xybots aren't really the same type of shooter, so i'm inclined to allow both. Thus goal92 would then be selected as the 8th game, because there is already a platform and maze game that eliminates mikie.

Please give comments on these 8 games, if they have playback problems or leeching problems not fixible with setting options or difficulty levels. Or if you think there's other reasons why we need to eliminate these 8, besides "my game didn't get picked".

I went once over these games and they all appear to playback with wolf80 sound on and the default settings seem apropriate but would welcome more difficult setting suggestions, especially on leprechn.

Discussion will end May 20th after which the games decided on will be locked to be started on the 22nd 00:00:00.

7 = Nice title. I don't see myself liking the game much though.
8 = hopes that it's a good fun soccer game that's not ruined by it being a bootleg/clone

2. doubledr ...special rules say: "VERSION TO USE : you must use mame34 if you want your input to playback " Is it still like this...?

4. rampage ...I think gategory for rampage is platform(brawl is not gategory:>)...You jump on the ground or top of the building, climb, and punch. Not that it's much like wonderboy3(wb3)...more like xenophobe, except climbing. Platform basics anyway...

wb3...ummm, I guess some will like this
Doubledr, pretty as a candy...if I only knew the moves, first game ever...hopeless
Xybots...Great!
Rampage...yukh! (dump,dump,dump)
Zektor....Wow! Asteroids, but better. Now I must re-learn this...
Leprechaun....Al will take first place Played my first game ever...at 400k no problem...3men left...Whooooosh....result 420k, hehe
Ohmygod...Could be interesting puzzle
Tac-scan...too bad propably won't qualify...magic of vector games
Goal92...Looks nice, fast action which is good...first game ever....didn't get a goal..game over
Strength&skill...allmost maximized the game today...still some hope to fit in. Nice option for track-game
Blockcar....slight chances getting in?...Arkanoid games are allways nice, didn't try yet.

Fixed back in 0.60, with pretty much all Neogeo games (RTC caused the problems).

yep doubledr works, with sound even, and hmm, yeah i guess rampage could be a platform, but there aren't really any gold coins to pick up or things to "bounce" on, but not all platform games have that, you're really killing people and picking up food, beatemup (like knights/shocktro/goldenAxe), but you're not scrolling. It's better classified as platform/brawl. If we remove rampage the next selection would be blockcar, not a bad choice. I'm still not convinced it's "too similar" a platform game as wboy3 to eliminate.

Seriously Chad, Shock Troopers a "brawl" game? Why, because it has close-range attacks? That's not quite enough... do you really see many similarities between Shock Troopers and Final Fight?

but I guess this is meaningless since it's not going to get in.

anyways, I made a test inp for Double Dragon and it plays back fine, woot :D just be sure to specify if sound is off, since it makes a difference.

P.S. Never heard anything defined as "brawl" game before. Double Dragon is also "brawl"...Or maybe movie. I had to look what "brawl" means at dictionary.

...ummm, I mean easiest, most effective etc...

the main characters Billy and Jimmy are both quite good... I give the edge to Jimmy because of his more powerful one-hit knockdown "hurricane kick"

they have some devastating combos after you activate the ABCD "powerup" that transforms them... and the transformation itself is invincible and can counter attacks when opponent jumps in or something....


oh, and back on topic, I think the current 8 games that have been selected are a good mixture. Tacscan is debatable but I think Zektor is enough. While the genre of Mikie is kinda hard to classify, I wouldn't want to see it included anyway because of the leeching headaches.

ddonpach can run at full speed on some inps, some it runs really slow but displays 100% as the speed, this is already shown in most of the dodonpachi inps here...
donpachi is okay though
