Golden Era Game of the Week

See introduction here

The Game: Q*bert

romname: qbert

Reward: $25 (usd)

Deadline for submission to MARP: May 21, 2004 2359 hours GMT

Further Bounties: $100 (usd) for exceeding 1,895,565 points by August 30, 2004

Comments: Had planned on another game this week, but midway through the week I hadn't gotten a chance to play at all, so I decided to switch to a game I wouldn't have wanted to play anyway, but that others might like.

I tried to think of something slow-moving like Pac-Man or Donkey Kong. Came up with Q-bert. I always liked the sound on this game at least. It has tournament settings for MARP competition and TG entries, though the in-game settings do not support it. Please stop playing after you lose your fifth life.

Use WolfMAME .82

Please stop playing after you lose your fifth life.
Otherwise, Weehawk will be spending the next year or two watching Q*bert replays and will likely go crazy :)

John, I would like to play in this one...but can only play in macmame on my mac.

The replay from macmame for qbert is compatible with the regular mame or mame32 of the same version number.

Let me know...cuz I also had plans on going for 2+ million at TGTS.

figures...no reply. :(

I'll likely still go for the $100 bounty in June or July when visiting a friend who has a PC or if a port of wolfmame to OS X can be done by then.

Q*Bert replays are already cross-platform compatible so we only need for that game to get the "wolf" stuff added to macmame. :P
