I know I cleared GB1's first loop with this INP, but for some odd reason it won't play back properly. It sometimes desyncs at 1-1 (sometimes getting past that just fine but then desyncs in a later stage), and sometimes 1-1 isn't even the correct stage!

I don't get it, what could be wrong? There was no CFG, no NVRAM, no MEMCARD, and definitely no HI and hiscore.dat. I was hoping to fix this problem before uploading it, but it seems that I can't fix it. So here, I uploaded it in the hopes that maybe someone here can help me...

Looks like this game must be recorded and played back with -nosound to playback correctly.

Gunbird can have issues with hiscore.dat. Try adding it, see what happens.

How do I add hiscore.dat, and where should it go?

Just place it in the same folder as the MAME executable. And don't forget to remove it from there when you start recording too.

Well, here are my findings. With the hiscore.dat, the INP keeps starting at the castle stage (not the right stage, though). And with -nosound (without the hiscore.dat), it keeps starting at the train stage (still not the right stage). So with those, the INP is consistent...

Which makes me wonder why the INP plays back so erratically when played back normally. Where are all the random numbers coming from? Or perhaps there's a reason why most of the other gunbird INP's use MAME's that are no newer than v0.61?

I guess I have no choice but to do it again, either with -nosound or with mame61...

New INP up, and this time it's stable. Used mame62 (I didn't realize the old rom was that buggy; Ash was basically unplayable there!).

I still wonder why the old INP was so erratic, at least with sound on...

The new recording works perfectly. Good job. 8)
