vs. Castlevania in MAME 0.77

I just played some Castlevania(cstlevna) in 0.77.
You can barely get through the first boss in the allotted time.
You can't get through the second or third bosses in the allotted time on 1 life. You lose a life on time then can reach the boss on the next life.
It seems based on previous scores this wasn't the case in older MAMEs....especially given the special rule saying to not leech. You have no time at all to even get the items in this one...let alone leech extra points off enemies.
I'll test it in an older MAME to see if the start timer value is the same...and if so if it ticks down faster.
It can't be the same as the scores listed cuz it would be impossible to get as far as they got with how it plays in 0.77.
Try it and you will quickly see what I mean.
I went straight through the first 3 stages not even getting all the items and killed the bat boss very quickly yet only had 30 ticks left on the timer.
For the second boss, I ran out of time in the 3rd section of that group leading to the second boss.
For the third boss, you can't even really get that close to the reaching the 3rd boss in the allotted time. I was barely in the last section leading to the boss.
