Pepper II

Noting the new near 13 million score by franz.

Even in the description he describes how a bug in the game removed all by 1 enemy.

Can someone provide a bit more info about this bug? I'm not about to watch his inp over what must be several hours to look for when it occurs in his game. if it's a bug the player can actually trigger and thus avoid triggering it, then I think his score should be whatever score he had at the time all enemies disappeared except 1. Does it occur at only a score like 400,000 or not until much later? I'm guessing it likely occurs pretty early....so maybe I'll watch the inp up to 1 million anyway to see if it occurs prior to that score.

I think most if not just about all of us could complete level after level after level with only 1 enemy!

I don't think a score obtained in this manner is acceptable.
There are other games where there are methods of getting rid of enemies or the threat of enemies that are banned here at MARP...like the galaga-no-shoot trick...or the q*bert no enemy trick(not even mentioned here...but likely would be banned cuz once no enemies you can play forever easily).

I am only opening this up for discussion at this time. Then perhaps we can have a poll on it in a week or so. I'll have to check with TG in addressing his comments of a 10 million TG score..cuz if the same thing was done for that 10 million score I think TG nowdays wouldn't allow that either.

i donno. If the bug can be classified as part of the game (even though it's not a part of a skilled game) then who knows. But anyways it appears to "happen" at 38k, so the recording should probably be nuked into the tips and tricks.

My knowledge about this game is too small to comment. I just ask someone email him about this.
Then ask if he wants this for tricks&bugs page, why not...

I think it's cool to have Crystal Castles developer competing here at Marp :P

oh, it happens at 38k? I'll watch it then given it happens so quickly.

I played pepper II a lot(50+ times) during the summer...reaching scores around 400k clearing several levels of the game....and NEVER had that "bug" appear.....so it must be something specific to trigger the bug.

I'll watch the inp a bit later and give an update. it's sounding like a trigger for the bug though that can easily be avoided...and perhaps in cases can intentionally be triggered.

if so then it shoudn't be allowed or the game archived with no scores for it. Anyone can marathon it and get just about any score they want with only 1 enemy.

Strange, when I look inp...it happens around 20 000.

i didn't look real closely, since i used no throttling expecting it to happen later, i knew it was at least at or before 38k, 20k is proly right.

I viewed the inp...then tried and tried again doing what seemed to happen in his replay when the regular enemies disappeared....which seemed to be where you complete a maze..getting a bonus during an "energizer" phase...but I have often done that so there must be more to it than that.

I tried and tried again...and once briefly had them disappear...to only then come back out on the maze.

...so it would be nice if franz come comment. I'll e-mail him and point him to this thread to get more info if he has more info to provide as to what causes them to disappear.

is it something the player can actually control and trigger or is it just something that sometimes happens on completing a maze with an 'energizer" active and you have no way to know if/when they will disappear.
