Well hit me with a sasquatch and call me a newbie. I hate long introductions, so you're not getting one. I'll just say hello. Here goes:

HELLO!

There. Now I'll just beat up ZTNet for not letting me submit my #1 marble2 score... Or rather I would if it was within stick poking distance. I guess I'll just have settle with staring viciously at my monitor until it blinks.

Edit: Yay, it worked this time.

Confirmed, Wooooow!!!!!!!

I feel beaten  But happy to see such play 8O

The best Marble score at marp so far. Even with one foul you could finish with 76 seconds (2 deaths). Damn, I had a perfect game with 71 secs :o

The main factor of this score was definitely at silly race, where you got those small +3sec monsters without much chasing. You started silly race with 79sec -and finished if with same time!!! Starting final race with 99secs 8O

This proves that World record of 187K is possible after all. All depends of the silly race monsters, how quickly they are destroyed.

Nevertheless I believe the game was played using keyboard or joystick etc, which makes going full speed(or more than full speed?) much much easier.
The fascination and difficulty at arcade was indeed imo the difficulty to learn how to control marble perfectly with a trackball. When you wanted to go really fast, there was allways the risk to burn your skin too :D
But at marp, I think rule is that allmost any control device is ok.

Anyway, that's a one fabulous score, congratulations. I hope we will be seeing more that stuff from you. :D

Tommi

Oh, btw, you must have played this at arcade...What is your record?
Mine was 170K

I agree.....WOW. ...especially given the 1 death. That cost you from perhaps having the WR.

I'll have to fire up VPC on my Mac to watch this baby!

You obviously must have conquered the analog max input issue better than the rest of us have.

What did you use for input? Do you have a real arcade-style trackball? a computer trackball device? a mouse?

I have a theory that someone with a 1000 or 2000 dpi Razer Boomslang mouse would have an advantage for anlog input games....do you have one of these?

Just curious. :P

I've got a trackball, optical mouse, digital/analog gamepad, telekinesis, and a keyboard. I managed to clog up my trackball (damn my bad hygene), so I used a keyboard/gamepad mixture.

Unfortunately, I never got to play MM at the arcade (All the 'arcades' around here are full of fruit machines and other crap)..., but I did (and still do) have the Atari ST version, which took a while to load, but it was damn well worth it. Especially if you consider that my dad built me an arcade-style trackball (which is now packed away with the Atari...) :P

On another note, I had a few goes at the easier Set 1 earlier, and broke 200,000. Whee!

North-west. About 15 miles from Manchester.

I've just been reaquainted with Super Sprint after 5 years of separation. I used to play that game 'til my eyes hurt... 8O
...then I'd carry on, regardless.
