Fascinating. Yawn...
Anyone got any suggestions how the fck you're supposed to do 9.80 on [6th rnd] Long Horse? 15 spins? 16 spins??
I'm thinking (not rocket science) that this is going to become the limit on this game... I was hoping for 9.70 at worst, possibly 9.65 but 9.80!!!??
Anyway, just got 507k and I didn't record ('cos I'm a chump and was enjoying the ability to pause hehe), gonna have some food then try again
4800 skeets is a bitch too
(yes, I'm a little preoccupied with this game much to the displeasure of my better half heheh..)
ps, it doesnt seem to record high scores (on rnd 6) after swimming (skeets might. but i didnt get one).. on 9.8 lh i got 9.6 which should have been first, but it didn't register. anyone know of this? is it a bug?

ouch...that definitely seems like the very end.

Oh, well pausing makes a huge difference....cuz you give your fingers a rest between events. If you can manage that without pausing etc. make sure you are playing by TG's settings cuz you could submit that to TG where it would be a new WR.
I have no idea how you guys are getting the speeds you are getting though. I have tried a few different techniques and I just can't get the responsiveness out of my keyboard or other devices to get anywhere near the speed I would need to even match my arcade scores reaching into the 4th or 5th rounds.

The skeet shooting in round 4 or 5 is what would always get me in the arcade. You can miss one of the few couple or the last couple...but must get all in between...miss one in the middle part and you can't make the score.

Well, it depends on what you call a bug.
First, your game ended on this correct? Perhaps any "record" where the game ends would result in the record not registering.
Also....pretty much saying the same thing...a "record" that fails to qualify likely gets checked for qualifying first and in failing there isn't even checked versus the records.
It's likely coded like that so I personally wouldn't call it a bug. The scenario you have run into likely wasn't thought of by the developers.

ouch...that definitely seems like the very end.
Yeah... can't see this happening, The most spins i've had is 14 on an earlier round after 2 x 9.55 and i got 9.75.. Just like you can get 9.50 on 9 spins etc...

yeah pausing helps, not too much tho - see next paragraph.
I dont go THAT fast. I really dont. Moderation is the key (apart from weightlifting to an extent i spose, but the qualifies for that are not exactly hard to get

Well yeah, youre right, but, theyre just repeated earlier rounds... 4000 and 4600 are the 1st round (faster) and4800 is the second round stupidly fast heheh... but up to that i can't see much of a prob getting to the first orange skeet...

I got 9.60 on the first spin. It should have been first cos the other records were 9.6, 9.55, 9.55. If i spin 9.55 (or anything) on an earlier round, whether it qulas or not is registers as a record.
All good fun

15 spins , second or third jump on the line .Make sure you get a jump on first try . If ye get by that , watch out for 19m qualifying on Triple Jump .
Nice going....507k .
Cheers ,

Forgot . With regards to getting a 9.60 on LH , because you didn't qualify the record won't register . It was the same kind of thing on a certain T+F machine I once played where the 3rd round Long Jump qualifying was 10 meters...thats TEN METERS ( don't ask...) . I'd often get a 9m72 jump , obviously not qualifying , and no record to boot .
Cheers,
AL

It loops at round 6. qualifying for rnd 6 (and on) is: 45s, 4800, 9.8, 3800, 18m, cantremember and 5.90
Wheredyou see 19m??? afaik it looped at 18m back in the day...
and that pic, how dyou get that on 8.6 qualifying??? and you didn't lol.
10m??? how they get that to happen?
question mark overdose

The '10m machine' is a weird one . Ye can't even get that on MAME . As far as I remember , the 3rd round qualifying was :
100m Dash------8sec50
Long Jump-------10m00
Javelin------------95m or 97m
Hurdles-----------10sec00
Hammer----------95m
High Jump--------2m45
Extra man at 100k . Game over at Long Jump . Score was 270k-ish.
Also , the 5th round qualifying on the Triple Jump is 18m . I heard about the 19m qualifying via an old TG post . Apparently two guys , Billy Mitchell and Jack Gale , wired-up an electric toothbrush to the machine ( for mega-speeds ) and thats where they lost the game .
Speaking of Question Marks......off to #marp !!

Heh, I'm a chump - I've had the dips set to Easy1 since whenever (I don't recall changing it, assuming this is what mame defaults to).. You're right, on Normal1 5th rnd is 18m..
What are the officially accpeted settings, can't seem to find reference to them anywhere...
Now I'm more sober(! ) I can understand the pic... Still can't see me getting it tho.

I own Hypersports and track and field Jamma boards for my arcade cab!
Just set the hypersports board to joystick and had a go at the 9.80 on the horse, it's bloody impossible!!
I think that when you reach this point it's game over man, even if you make the horse the next swimming is a no go from the start!

(
Oh yeah, my current arcade score is around 587,000 on hypersports and around 3.2 million on track'n'field
Just got 2 ps2 pads and a usb for the PC too, might even give it a go later!

The next swimming is 'still' 45seconds i thought?

587k is some going.. what have you got the dip switches set to? Plus I don't know a lot about tg stuff, but isn't that then the new record?
I'm gonna have a few more gos later on, haven't got past 9.60 tho since 507k

My score was on my arcade machine and not mame!
U should be hitting around 150,000 after the first round if u wanna hit the 600,000 mark!
The trick is getting all the moles on the pole vault, obviously the more perfects on the shooting the better too

)
My machine starts at 2:00 mins for the first swimming then 1:00 then 58", 55", 50" then we hit 45" which is very hard to do......., i'll double check the dips later....

if by "accepted" you mean Twin Galaxies's settings, just check here:
http://cubeman.vg-network.com/tgts.txt
It's Normal 1.

I don't use Nvram so typically I get around 115-120k on the 1st round (no perfects on archery, 3 on skeets, 450 @ weighlifting ish)

Yeah I'm generally crap at pv, if i'm over 5.90 after rnd1 im doing well. sometimes i do well on skeets, other times i struggle to qualify...

according to the post above this, TG states it should be Normal 1. The swimming times you get are for normal1, first skeets are 1500, 8.90 dunno archery and 14m on tj i think.
Doesn't make all that much difference anyway...

I also remember that when the RLH cheat was allowed at MARP someone uploaded a recording over 550,000 I remember because they had a skeet shooting record of around 22,600 ...................
Anybody remember that??
