Wow! Take me with you!
Do you move there because of your work or why? Permanently? Can you speak any chinese? Where to are you moving? Beijing? Must be quite a culture shock...
I'm just curious.
Have a good time in China QT!

Wow Q.T....I had no idea...or I would have beaten your Major Havoc scores again for you to beat me back one last time before you went. hehe
As mentioned above hopefully you can get online soon and participate here at some level.
I guess this means you aren't going to have your Dad's Powerbook to confirm any of my macmame inps ehh?

hehe

thanks for all the kind wishes. settled down somewhat here now, but it's been a hectic week. still no internet--typing this from an internet cafe for 1.50 Yuan/half hour (~20cents American$).
diabolik: no, i don't speak a word of the language.
Rick: the Powerbook is still around--i don't really have any more access to it than before. hard to pry it out of my dad's hands. unfortunately the PowerMac 7500 is now gone so i can't watch old Mac .inps anymore.
things are *very* different here. for example, rather than getting drunk on Corona and passing out on the floor of my room, i now get drunk on Pabst Blue Ribbon (why did THAT beer get manufactured here, of all the possibilities?) while eating watermelon and pass out under the picnic tables.
i guess this is culture shock.
hope to see you all soon. this cafe is nice and cool. it has been 35-38 degrees Celsius outside all week.

...and it's cheap too !!!
You'll tell me about the freezing Chinese winter ....

...I've been once in Beijing for a week in January....never above -10...-12 °C
