ATTN: WRX2--- omame72-need to specify what "other"

When you use an "other" mame, you need to specify in the description what exact version of mame was used.

You haven't done this so no one can playback and confirm your scores.

nah John....there actually was a discussion about those usg games if they should be archived or not.

It's not luck. I would need to look up the thread to see but think with the game you can do progressive style betting to perhaps slowly but surely build your way up to the max score.

For one of the others...think was some draw poker game...you could play it enough where from the first 5 cards dealt you know what's coming next so know what to keep or get rid of to max your odds of getting a winning hand....to the point you can play it as long as you want.

I noted the omame72 thing cuz he has other games also with that and no description or readme within the zip archive saying what he actually used....so little to not point trying to confirm any of his inps without knowing what he used.

most of the omame72 recordings can be played back with official mame72, this is ok, but many people in the past 'er miszzero der komisar' and 'Vaz' used to record in mame lang which had horrific playback problems when using official mame. ThHis isn't in the rules but it might be: * We should all try to use a mame version that i downloadable from marp (offical, 32, tg, wolf, mac, xmame) to ensure playbackability or your score might get nuked for playbackability reasons because your recorded it with an unofficial mame.

Could we consider going back to the Alphamame blocking, but with Wolfmame substituted for .71 and later?

Just for the sake of playbackability I would be in favor.

the playback rule of allowing three people including the author to confirm indefinitley and three people who can't playback to zero (if no two others can playback correctly) has worked pretty well although it doesn't work too well with the mame63 bug. it's proly good enough to discourage people from using unofficial mames, but it requires some work to just post playback problems and for other people to test and agree.

Since all mames (now) can be hacked it's really not right to block recordings, we'll just find out the hard way with subjective analysis that certtain recordings are messed up and zero (block) them that way.

but why does he use about a few billion versions of mame and even when he is playing the same game sometimes?

Because 'he' is probably 'them' :)

Or maybe he likes variation, who knows.

WRX2=TeamKorea.

it has members as many as Team2ch.(37?)

ahh, so WRX2 is a team ehh?

I always figured that was the case cuz the various versions and when one "WRX2" would post to the forums and agree to use this or that you see the older versions still being used....it makes sense cuz it's a different person.

It would be nice if for the leaderboard those that are teams can check a "team option" in their acocunt profile so even if they choose to still be listed on the leaderboard some icon is shown by their name or their name in a different color or something to it's easy to spot teams.

Most teams are obvious with their name....and include which team member played in the description. WRX2 doesn't do any of this as you can see...cuz most of us were just guessing it was maybe more than 1 person.

WHY TO CONTINUE USE TEAMS ON MARP? WHY TO CONTINUE USE TEAMS ON MARP? WHY TO CONTINUE USE TEAMS ON MARP? WHY TO CONTINUE USE TEAMS ON MARP? WHY TO CONTINUE USE TEAMS ON MARP? WHY TO CONTINUE USE TEAMS ON MARP? WHY TO CONTINUE USE TEAMS ON MARP? WHY TO CONTINUE USE TEAMS ON MARP?

(and I mean teams with only one user name... bamboo style)

Personally I don't mind teams here as long as their playing name shows they are a team...as most do.

Well a team should not upload under the same account. There are a few teams at MARP, but all of them are uploading their scores to their own name but with something in the name that tells us that they are playing for the same team. Like "xxx@Team2ch" etc.

Nothing wrong with teams then. But if everyone uploads as the same person it is not quite right IMHO.
