MacMAME 0.71.2 released

Post by LN2 »

Download MacMAME 0.71.2(url removed....see below post for URL for new 0.71.2.1 version)

This version is for OS X users only...so if you are using OS 9 or earlier you will have to be content with the previous official 0.66.2.

If you happened to get the early, build of 0.71 that was out Monday and early Tuesday, then delete that cuz it's unstable and had a couple major build issues that were resolved. Get the above new stable build which was released Tuesday.

Barry, can we add macmame 0.71(mac71) to the version list on the submit page?

Thx.

update...just tested this release. it plays back recorded inp files just fine...but doesn't save them.

I have reported it to the macmame dev and given playback works it's likely an easy fix and rebuild to fix saving as well.

I could test playback cuz I had recorded some macmame 0.71 inps using a separate unofficial build for macmame where recording does work. The inps played back fine in this official version.

I'll post new version with this fix(and likely other fixes) when it's released. given this is a new build for OS X only(versus previous builds that were carbon for both OS 9 and X) there are a few bugs to work out. A couple game CPUs are still crashing as well...those will be fixed quickly as well I hope.

Stay tuned.

New MacMAME update out that fixes the file i/o pathname bug as well as several other bugs and also gets it concurrent with the 0.71u2 build of MAME.

I just tested some inp recording and playback and it all works just great.
