One round only Hyper Sports?

Guess what my fave (2) games are :P

Seeing as (due to incredible easiness) Track and Field is limited to one scoring round, why not add a one round inp section for Hyper Sports?

Sorry if it's been discussed before, but seems like a good idea to (little old low scoring, crap at the game generally overall) me ;)

I think one of the clones is 1 round only...so it's covered.

In my opinion, I don't really think Hyper Sports should be have a separate section as one round only, because unlike Track and Field, it keeps getting harder.

Track'n'Field is the same after 3 rounds . Hyper Sports DOES get different and harder .

As for a one round game ? No IMO , because it reminds me of a stingy arcade owner.......

Cheers ,

Nope, I think you're mixing it with Track&Field clone or hypersports special -which is different game.

hypersports has one clone, hpolym84, main rom for main-man is hyperspt. Or did you play hpolym84 only one round AL? :) If you did, I never play any game again!!!! :P

What I did suggest before was to split track&field to one round and marathon too, then I made one million for practice, but the darn thing was not splitted :? Shame on you Pat

Yeah, I know why Track and Field is the way it os, but the open-ended nature of HS means that out of the inps i can get to play, none are maxed out...

TJT's high of 450k is on the 5th round - considering it's quite easy/possible? to get around 130k on the first round alone that means an average of only 85k or so on the remaining rounds... And only just qualifying will net you around 70k... anyway ;)

actually you score higher on later rounds in Hyper Sports. The first time around for the pole vault you don't earn the extra point bonuses for nailing the pole plants when that also sets a new record....so that first round you hope to get as high as possible at the pole vault...then next times around you can really build up the points if you get 4-5+ of great pole plants in a row.

You also get more points for Skeet....if you can perfect the runs.
Scoring for the rest is about the same.

...perhaps that first time around he nailed and got pole plant bonuses before it reached the records.

I once had a game I did 8 in a row that first time....but only the first 3 counted cuz the last 5 were setting a new record....cost me tons of points.

I forget how high it goes...cuz never had hit that many in a row before but know it gets up to 8k then I think 16k....but not sure beyond that what happens...if it keeps doubling then I would have been up to 128k for the 8th in a row. I'd bet it stops at 16k though or whatever was after 8k.

True, but the scores uploaded don't seem to indicate this.

It also gets increasingly difficult to get perfects on skeets, and the faster the guy runs the harder it is to plant perfectly... some scores have been docked cos of the nvram being present (ie they can max out the pv score from teh first round) but they are only talking about 20k or so... i see your point tho :D

I think use of nvram is acceptable at HS. Allows to get fancy mole points at first round. This makes scores comparable to arcade scores.

Mole bonus stays at 8K you can get several of those, until the limit of your max height(5.92-94)hits you. Later rounds you start higher, so you can not get as many moles as you COULD get at first round.

Skeets get so hard later, that your aim will be to qualify -not to get maximum points all the time.

I'm sure my average is better, Dunno what I got first round, lets say 130K
450-130=320
320/3=107 (I think there are 4 full rounds played)
So that would make over 100K for rest of rounds after 1st.
But do not even think I can not do better highscore, if I would be willing to spend some time at it.

TJT...yeah, that's my point...cuz you can get the most mole points that first time around....if you only already had records set for 5.92 and higher for it so you have a lot of vaults before you reach a record.

repeats 8k ehh? For some reason I remember it going beyond that but perhaps not...my memory of playing it isn't that great....and couple times tried it in MAME didn't get up to even 8k.

little point for me anyway as the 4th skeet always got me...never got past it...cuz requires you to be perfect at least til you get that second big point clay....so can miss right near end or first 1 or 2 right at beginning but that's it...miss even just 1 in the middle and your toast....which is usually what happens to me...so nearly perfect but miss at wrong spot.

think even if I got past that the horse vault is up to a 9.45 or 9.50 requirement which is very hard to get.

I'm not doubting you could improve your score, but by the later rounds, ie 9.60 LH (what's after 9.60?), 50s swimming, without a luckyish vault or a breathless swimming, you're gonna struggle to q (i know 47's is doable while breathing, but I normally get just over 50s with breaths on a keyboard...) - skeets aside...

As for the moles, well yeah... you can in theory get lots of points by perfect plants, but IMO, it's harder to get a string of perfects on PV than it is to get all Nice on Archery, and that's bloody hard ...

LN2, all I do is aim to get to the second highpoint clay too, dont think i've ever had a perfect past the third round. It's funny tho that in a game that you would think got gradually harder, the last 3 events are virtually gimme's - people don't fail on them like they do on swimming, skeets and LH.

The reason that I thought a one round inp was a good idea in addition to the current 'as far as you can get' one is because all the records are do-able on the first round - you don't need the game to progress onto harder levels to get 21200 on shooting, well sub 50s swimming, 9.6/.65/.70 long horse etc

Still I'm happy aiming for 450k+ ;)
