Pat,
After taking a look through the listings via the "1st" option so graciously told to me of... and I have come across these 2 considerations.
Area 51/Max Force DUO - AREA51MX-51 [Area 51]
Area 51/Max Force DUO - AREA51MX-MX [Maximum Force]
due to both games being selectable within the same cab...
Bubble Memories [Story of Bubble Bobble 3] [World]
Bubble Memories [Story of Bubble Bobble 3] [Japan]
into
BUBBLEM-NM [Normal Mode]
BUBBLEM-SM [Super Mode]
BUBBLEMJ-NM [Normal Mode]
BUBBLEMJ-SM [Super Mode]
these 2 sets based on the code of;
*Super mode*
Press Left, Start, Fire, Jump, Up, Down, Start, Right at the title screen to unlock another set of levels.
Super Mode starts off with the same Level 1 of Normal Mode, only the monsters are gargantuan! And THEN The game has a diff set of levels and even harder monsters. This is why my idea of a split.
Does this sound reasonable?

area51mx, I'll have to look into. Can't imagine many will play this game because of the CHD file requirement. HUGE D/L
Sorry, for Bubble Memories NO WAY! Can't use power-ups in a split.
Gotta draw the line here! Otherwise we'd have 50 splits for Bubble Bobble alone!

That's why Kelly wants the split.
But seriously, it's two games in one so a split is the only way to go.

Actually, the other reason I suggested is because when you beat the game it TELLS you the code... and by beating this mode, it's the only way to see the REAL ending.. otherwise, despite code entry, it's completely different [when you enter it, you select game.. then let's you choose normal or hard]....
But... I can understand your viewpoint... I just figured the diff set of levels was criteria enough... the other power up modes are just that... they only trick out the game... unlike Super Mode which is entirely different... no worries though

IMO, this is no different than expert mode/secret stages in the Pang games. They are different stages, and appear to be harder.

And this mode appears automatically after XX weeks of exploitation of the game. We play it without make this code in arcade.

Actually I try to confirm some inp for Bubble Memories ans someones are made on Practice Mode. This mode is a real Game Mode, with its own level (only 10 who don't exist in story mode) and its own scoring system (time is count). I think Bubble Memories must be splitted in 3.
bubblem-sg for Story Game (the usual game)
bubblem-pg for Practice Game (mode Practice)
bubblem-sm for Super Mode
and the same for bubblemj
