I'm a bit puzzled about this record. I mean, it's just the repetition of the three first loops over and over again. If you're smart enough to complete the third loop (which is hard, MAI-N looses a hella lot of lives there) you can theoretically go on forever...
so why is Gamest record a humble 2.755.650? What is more this record is referred to as a 5-8 (so it's better than MAI-N's at the same stage)... 5th loop... just as hard as the second one you say, so it's hard to explain why a mighty Japanese player completes the first three stages, makes that beautiful score at 5-8 then dies... what the...
another thing: why does the loop counter stop every three stages? I mean, there's stage 1, 2, 3 then 1 again... hmm, maybe I'm too suspicious but has anyone gone beyond the third stage in the real arcade machine? Are you that sure that there's not a *real* fourth stage harder than the third one and so on?
The emulation (or the dump) doesn't seem perfect, which feeds my doubts more and more...
