svullo needs to eliminate either his lnc .inp or his clocknch .inp as they are the exact same recording. That also should be noted that the same .inp was capable of being played back on both titles. I would be happy to confirm svullo's recording now that I've watched it. However, which one is it?

It would be impossible for one inp to play back on both titles as they are quite different hardware. Most notably, clocknch has to load the game from cassette before it starts. MAME will load the game stored in the inp header, you can't force it, unless you remove the header entirely (or record it with MacMAME).

it's the non-cassette one, you can tell which game is being played back by watching the 'Playing back previously recorded game lnc (Lock'n'Chase) [press return]' line and also this recording doesn't do the DECO count down too..

also just compare the #bytes of the 2 inps.
oh well...seems one was already removed so I can't compare that.
I agree no way same inp can be submitted for 2 different versions.
As Barry noted, I have seen this with a few inps for other games also...where on confirming in macmame I might have selected the wrong rom set yet it still plays back fine anyway.
Clearly need 2 different plays even if the play of the game from 2 rom sets is identical where the inp can playback on more than 1 rom set.

I understand the lack of a countdown when I played it back as clocknch. However, it still played back nonetheless. Explanation? I was curious myself as to how it skipped over the countdown process.

By the way, here are the two "different" .inps:

oh, it actually didn't skip the countdown process it played the lnc game, mame chose the gamename in the inp header frame (lnc) rather than choosing the game name specified on the command line (clocknch)

I see. Thanks for the explanation, Chad.

yep, they definitely seem like the same exact inp file.
Maybe that wasn't intentional though...where he uploaded the same one again without realizing it.
oh well, if 1 of them as removed and user notified, then all is well.
