This game should be archived. Input only functions for the first stage. After that there is no control.

I'll try that one myself to see if I see the same thing..if so then I would of course agree it should be archived.
Some games are just really picky on playback. I assume you tried playback at exactly same settings you used to play it. If not sure, then that might be the problem.
For example some games lose sync on playback if you use different frameskip or even if you have the speed throttle off or change audio settings.

LOL. I'm talking about playing the game! I've tried it on XMAME 0.66 and AlphaMAME 0.66 - the second stage will not take input *while playing*.

oh..not even recording...but input from any device started at stage 2 stops ehh?
I'll try it in macmame 66 to see if same thing....if so then obviously the game isn't functioning properly so should be archived.

its a known issue so i'd hope it happens in all mame versions

Yep...does same thing in macmame66.
This game is actually marked as "not working" within macmame.
It definitely should be archived.
