Hi coordinators, have you already decided of when the KO will be held?
thanks
thanks
We are aiming to start K10 on Saturday, March 16th. Full rules post will be made sometime in the next few days, hopefully.RAX wrote:Hi coordinators, have you already decided of when the KO will be held?

All games are chosen by the coordinators (myself, mahlemiut, MJS). We try to cover a variety of genres (there will not be 5 shmup rounds). As to whether the games are 'sub-average" or not, keep in mind that no matter what games we select, there are always going to be complaints. It's impossible to have a multiple-game tourney where every player genuinely likes every game. A lot of the times, "obscure" games are picked simply because there are very few players proficient at the game before the tourney starts, so it's interesting to see who can pick up on them and score the highest by the end of the week. But that's not to say that we're completely shying away from "popular" games either!kernzy wrote:this will be my first "K".
will there be restrictions on game choices? as the current "T" has lots of sub-average games and is evidently a turn off for all but die hard mamer's.
i hope the variety is large and restrictions small...

This tournament has already been postponed quite a bit, we're not pushing it back further just because of a conflict with a classic game-related event that's outside of MARP. It's one day out of a whole week. It's not like there's bonus points involved for submitting a recording on the first day, you can wait until the final day to submit a score if you feel so inclined. The only real benefit that comes from submitting as soon as possible is that ties on scores will be broken by earliest date submitted (and to be honest I highly, highly doubt there will be any tie scores on the first game).simpsons99 wrote: Great same date as the DK Wild Card Toury Event...
I guess i will get a late start at this again.

Nobody can organize a tournament that fits perfectly into the schedules of dozens of different people spread out all over the world. People are going to have conflicts no matter what, that's life.
