Code: Select all

record <gamename> <inpname> [extra options]
Remembering, of course, that for whatever inexplicable reason, MAMEdev decided that INPs don't need extensions any more. The batch file will add it for you. MARP requires a zip file to contain a file with the .inp extension.

MAME does have an autocentre option, but I think it's limited to certain types of controls and controllers. Probably wouldn't work for a steering wheel, seeing as it would be something that can be held in one position.

sawys, I see on first page for leaderboard you give times like:

2.00.52

no, the total time is actually 200.52 seconds...roughly 50 seconds per lap...4 laps.

BTW, that is an awesome time...would be 67k at TG settings with the additional cards.

Yes, that is correct - I have made those adjustments.

I don't know Rick, I think Redstar might be in line to a possible TG record if he used the TG settings... that was a tremendous run!

Can't playback Lippo's recording... possibly an NVRAM issue like the rest of them?

Well, I use doskey, can't be much easier than that. :)

Oh, I see TG record is 81k. 5 laps. Also speed settting is "high speed", not average as mame default. What do you mean by additional cards?

At Marp, TG settings should be banned at parent, Namco romset now. Perhaps at all romsets and tracks, since HP has some kick-a*s scores at default settings here. Phil?
BBH wrote: is there any point in even having a brake button without analog control? I tapped it once and couldn't get back up to full speed again. Maybe because it thought the pedal was partially pressed down or something. I've just disabled the button entirely since letting go of the accelerator provides a pretty big speed drop in the first place.
Looking at redstar's recording, it seems to me that he can accelerate faster than I. It looks to me that he can go from 300 to 400 way faster than I can...Not initially at first round but later.
Is there some trick for faster acceleration? Do you need analog pedal?
I use keyboard button for gas.
Anyone else notice this, or am I just plain paranoid?

Also I noticed a particular acceleration in Redstar's inp

So I'm not paranoid, phew! :)

What's the trick?

Nope, you aren't. I also observed it and I'm still trying to find the way for accelerating so fast and reaching such high speeds.

60530..

Why the submit option write "some kind of error with the zip file - couldn't unzip it
command: '/usr/bin/unzip -l rex_polepos2-test _60530_wolf119' "

I mistake?

I had the same problem. Here's my first try.

I discovered the same thing and after verifying inps, it seems normal.

If you finish the 1st lap without crashing and with good speed, in the 1st turn, go on the left outside the road. You will hear that the sound of the speed doesn't slowdown and your car will recover its speed faster than ever and the kmh will progressively exceed 400 kmh. Under the bridge of the middle of circuit, speed will decrease at 399 kmh and increase again like before.

Note that if you make a crash, you have to do one lap entirely to do this thing again.

Look my last inp and you will see that i did it not on the 1st but on the 4th lap.

Trick or bug, i don't know the real arcade to say it.

Maybe RedStar change analog sensivity or something in analog controls. Try it.

PS. Sawys was faster :)

Personally i changed :
Dial digital speed from 4 to 1
Dial sensitivity from 15% to 13%

Maybe it is not bug. Do you remember speed trick in Over Top?
