Udirnel, con
mame -createconfig
creas un archivo llamado mame.ini. Lo abres y allí verás

Code: Select all

#
# CORE OUTPUT DIRECTORY OPTIONS
#
cfg_directory cfg
nvram_directory nvram
memcard_directory memcard
input_directory inp
state_directory sta
snapshot_directory snap
diff_directory diff
comment_directory comments
pues lo cambias por

Code: Select all

#
# CORE OUTPUT DIRECTORY OPTIONS
#
cfg_directory cfg
nvram_directory <NULL>
memcard_directory memcard
input_directory inp
state_directory sta
snapshot_directory snap
diff_directory diff
comment_directory comments
English:
With line:
mame -createconfig
you'll create a file called mame.ini. Open it and look for this:

Code: Select all

#
# CORE OUTPUT DIRECTORY OPTIONS
#
cfg_directory cfg
nvram_directory nvram
memcard_directory memcard
input_directory inp
state_directory sta
snapshot_directory snap
diff_directory diff
comment_directory comments
and change it for this

Code: Select all

#
# CORE OUTPUT DIRECTORY OPTIONS
#
cfg_directory cfg
nvram_directory <NULL>
memcard_directory memcard
input_directory inp
state_directory sta
snapshot_directory snap
diff_directory diff
comment_directory comments

There are of the problems with the highscores shipment automatic .
It writes to me "some kind of error with the zip file - couldn't unzip it
command: '/usr/bin/unzip -l rex_polepos2-test _55830_wolf119' "

I enclose my score here.

Thanks from me too, Peter Punk. I'm lazy and hated having to remember to delete the nvram everytime.

Sawys, there's a typo on my score listed in this thread. As much as I would like to have scored 56K+, my current real score was 46,970. Oddly enough, my position in the list is currently correct :)

gameboy9 submitted an excellent run...

please add "K6" to the description though so it appears on the K6 leaderboard and so the ref sees it as well.

Gameboy9 is a tournament coordinator and thus is not eligible for the leaderboard.

However, he is first in the "unofficial" tournament coordinator's leaderboard, listed just below the main leaderboard in the first post of this thread.

Got it. :)

Thank you. :) But Deadful Melody is right - I'm a coordinator and therefore can't rank in.

Couldn't you guys pick a game without all this extra baggage?

Luckily I have a friend who can translate all this stuff for me.
Not sure if others are so lucky.

Seems like a lot of unnecessary messing around to play and record a game.

Meh....

Al, It's not that hard, it's the usual stuff, only the instructions were very detailed. :)

at Command prompt:

mame polepos2 -record polepos2 -mouse

tab,

Input this game(you only need these two buttons for playing:
Player1 pedal inc (=gas)
Gear change

Adjust analog settings for dial x sensitivity, it's too sensitive.

I always use simple read-only file called "nvram" (no filename extension), which prevents mame ever creating nvram-directory. Create this file by creating nvram.txt, rename it to nvram, rightclick properties, check read-only. Put it in your mame directory. voila

BBH wrote:is there any point in even having a brake button without analog control? I tapped it once and couldn't get back up to full speed again. Maybe because it thought the pedal was partially pressed down or something. I've just disabled the button entirely since letting go of the accelerator provides a pretty big speed drop in the first place.
As a long time fan of Pole Position, I can tell you that based on what I read in GamePro's review of Namco Museum Vol. 3, their protip for the game pretty much matches my advice, in that you don't need the brakes. Instead, simply use high and low gear to slow down around turns, and/or let off the accelerator.

By the way, is there a way to make it so your car will center itself once you let go of the key, or do you have to recenter it manually?
