I get the same result. With no sound it plays to 70000+ where the player has to jump from platform to platform over the fire pits. I'm running XP.

Same thing happens on both my PCs - about 75k, dying in the cave area.

I'm happy, my inp playback ok on Win98 :P
Today I will record growlu inp on alpha62 with sound on.

--------------------------
Ok. Inp uploaded to MARP. growlu: sound on, autoframeskip, Win98SE, alpha62.
Only second place but don't worry, I will beat 1st if found good version emu.

Same here.

BTW, I think autoframeskip is a bad idea if you're hoping for playbackability.

With F10(throtle) on my win98 playback to 12800 (first boss) too. But 12800 is wrong score on first boos. Correct score is 13000.

With normal speed playback to 109200 (last boss).

Maybe I will try record on wolf83 with frameskip 0 and next on alpha62 with frameskip 0.

I want record in DOS but I don't have sound drivers for AC97 DOS. My old computer (with DOS sound drivers) is too slow for Growl.
---------------------------
EDIT

I record growlu on wolf83 with fs 0 and sound but don't playback correctly on my computer.
No sound is probably only one good option for record in alpha and wolf.
I will try in standard mame84 and mame36.

It's probably quite obvious by now, this is not the 0.63 bug.

It is not a .cfg issue (like with Warrior Blade), I have tried that already.

There is only one other Taito F2 game that has playback issues that I am aware of - Super Space Invaders '91 / Majestic 12

I can't find any obvious reason in the source for this to happen, although I don't quite trust MAME's timers when an interrupt is triggered by one, but that's just me :)

yeah, you must RECORD with NOSOUND with any version as said before, 98+xp does not play this back.

the thread you wrote about ajax & air buster .
you say you record and cannot playback
we can play them back
unusual , i think there is something wrong with your operating system.
reinstall windows or overwrite the specific version of mame from zip .
do a virus scan
do a disk scan
do a windows scan
is your computor overheating ?
maybe it is hardware related .
