Heh heh
Hope it comes back, I just finished a 181K game on galap1... 140K on third ship, and a spectacular less-than-5K on last ship (well there was an alien I simply had lost on my radar, my mistake - I was probably just satisfied with the result anyway).

Just stating the obvious, but - marp.retrogames.com is non-functional:
Code: Select all
>There has been an error processing this script. If you believe this is in error, please mail admin@ztnet.com with the url and any other related information.

This is a 500 error (ie: internal server error). The issue seems localised to MARP, but I have checked that scripts can be run, and static pages can also be loaded without an issue.
EDIT: Tried flushing .pyc files, forcing Python to re-compile the files, to no avail.

Everything should be working again now. Zwaxy fixed the problem. Damn file size limits.

I was wondering if ZTNet could stand the entire K7 tournament without a glitch... unfortunately not

and marp.retrogames.com currently says there's a timeout while connecting.
Hope things get fixed quickly.

Okay, that was barely half an hour. Not too shabby this time...

30 March 2009: MARP is currently down. ZTnet are no longer able to host the site.
Once I make alternative hosting arrangements I'll put the site back up.
Please contact
zwax.marp@gmail.com if you can offer hosting. It uses about 8GB of disk space, needs MySQL and Python CGI script access, and does about 1GB of network traffic per day. You get the banner ad revenue.
I guess this is ZTNet final chapter

ZTNet never did renew mameworld.net.
As I understand it, ZTNet are greatly scaling down hosting, so I guess they went for the more CPU intensive site first.

yeah, basically he's stated he's reducing everything to a single server, and all the high bandwidth / CPU sites were being chopped.
Apparently 'Retrogames and Hosted sites' were meant to be safe, but I suspect he forgot to take MARP into account at first (it's probably the most demanding site of all, since it's actually *active*), so you're probably lucky it didn't just get deleted without warning...

wow...for a small fee are they willing to provide a couple DVDs of the backup of the scores database?
otherwise...seems it's all gone...
man, was just setting new personal highs on centipede for myself. not sure why but suddenly I have improved on these games.
BTW, I had saved the top_3 scores about a week ago...so we have that at least if nothing else.
I think the database had gotten to a point anyway that someone needs to go through the database removing the zip files that aren't within the current scores and perhaps only keep the top 5-10 for each track. that likely would trim down that 8 gig to a one-sided DVD.
is ZTNet allowing access by an editor that can at least get a backup of the MARP files or get ZTNet to mail them the DVDs of the backup?
