That'd be nice - otherwise I'd be in the same position as TG, unable to submit recordings as I play on Linux :|

Of course if mahlemiut or anyone else puts up a MARP-official Linux WolfMAME binary, I'd just go with that (as I used to do with xwolfmame 0.104, downloaded from wolfmame.marpirc.net) instead of patching RBelmont's SDLmame sources with mahlemiut's Wolf-addons :D

huh?? tg doesn't accept linux wolfmame recordings? that's pretty silly, probably 100% will playback on with windows wolfmame. I think accepting of unofficial wolfmame builds would be ok, as long as all the security patches are maintained and they playback with official wolfmame.

Aart, have you tried the WolfMAME version of MAME .90?

http://wolfmame.marpirc.net/wolfmameplus-090.zip

My guess would be it doesn't have the tunnel anamoly since it's based on MAME .90
Confirmed!!

Ok then, cool :P
When i click on the 'here' link on the rules-page at 3.b) tho, it directs me to WolfMAME Plus 0.105. So that's why i thought i had to have at least that version, or a later one.

Next test: how will Wolf-090 handle the killscreens?

Cheerz ;)

Accepted wolfmame is 0.106, which simply doesn't exist for Linux.

unless I misunderstood the sense of the post of course

oh hmm, i don't see a xwolf-106 binary but you can certainly apply the wolf106 patches to the xmame source and it certainly "could" be accepted as an official wolfmame because the recordings made by it would playback in windows wolfmame106.

You got me hopeful for a minute, but on http://wolfmame.marpirc.net there are no "real" wolf106 patches, as they start from 107 - there are test diffs for 106u10, but I don't think they fit the bill :(

mahlemiut, comments ?

I stopped at 0.104, as that was the last version of X-MAME. SDLMAME, from memory, didn't exist then. I'm not sure if there is an SDLMAME 0.106 or not...

earliest sdlmame was 111 http://emulators.homeactionreplay.org/

you should be able to patch the wolf104 sources (with the other bits and pieces of dipports106.diff) with the xmame-106 source pack. If you do get xwolfmame106 patches in a patch form that works let me or barry know to post it.

Barry, i think we are both asking is that there is no wolf106.zip patch distro? we weren't looking for the binary which you did stop at 104. There is only source to wolfmame104 and wolfmame107, the 105 and 106 source has diff files but no complete zip with wolf source in it. There must be a wolf106 patch somewhere, but i actually don't have it either.

Great ! Got the .106 diffs and when I'm back from the weekend in Paris (starting tomorrow morning 8) ) I'll give a go at building xwolfmame 0.106 !

THANKS Chad !!!

Hi George,
Killscreen is the same on Wolf-090 as it is on Mame-090, i.e. it gives all 8 extra boards.
Thanks for alerting me to the existence of this version! Appreciate it ;)
Two questions arise tho:
1. You said Wolf-090 would be fine for submissions to MARP, but... does that include #1 spots?
2. Do you happen to know of any version that would incorporate the regular tunnel-play of 090 AND 'normal' killscreen endgame of (for example) Wolf-106?

Thx & Ciao4now,

1. any wolf version is fine for marp No.1's.
2. dunno, i would expect the latest mame version to be the closest to what the aracde does eventually (maybe months, maybe years) If you think there is a bug (a discrepancy from what happens (happened...) in the actuall arcades), report it.

yeah, I would try it in the latest wolfmame and see if same tunnel anomaly and kill screen...and report to mame dev any anomalies you see.

might be in all the versions since 106 they have it right now. I haven't played seriously in anything later than 106 except for a couple games that require later versions.

thread hijacking a bit here..

since there are mspacman experts on here too, does anybody have any comments to add on this?
http://www.mametesters.org/mantis/view.php?id=1954

obviously bootleg mspacman systems are every common (probably more than the original) but since there are people getting highscores here, who I assume have used original systems in the past I'm interested in opinions. In theory it should be right in MAME now, but according to this report it isn't. since we're getting different reports from different people, any confirmations on mametesters either way from actual expects would help, it's still undecided at the moment.

please posts comments on mametesters, not here.

(obviously if it's wrong now, or was wrong before that has potential to invalidate any scores..)
